I was looking through trying to find anything, is there a set release date or is it all speculation?
Release Date
I think at the moment it's navigating by holding up a wet finger in the wind. ^^
Although Amazon.co.uk puts the release date on 8th of September....
Yeah, and we all know how precise Amazon release dates are
I'd guess that it would follow a similar release as Rogue Trader; some copies for sale at GenCon and then hitting the market in the first part of September.
Lame. Alright, thank you gents i will plan for late October, early November. haha
Leisure Games in London have it down for pre-order (at a good price!!) with a release date of August; and they are usually pretty accurate.

Wayland games have them on pre release as well.

Thanks for spotting that, Traveller61. I now have mine pre-ordered!
Someone on a different thread uploaded an image which purported to be picture of the book's cover. In the bottom left hand corner under that image, it said "Release Date: 25 August 2010." I would take that with a pinch of salt, though.
I have seen various and reliable resources that point to August release as well, but one thing to consider. The book is still at the printers, and it will need to hit the water really soon in order to get to shore, get to FFG, get unpacked and get to distributors, for an August release.

Aye, I always order my stuff from Leisure Games too, and for £32.99, I'm not going to argue
Just to send some more love out to Leisure Games, whenever I did mail order something, or was in London and wanted to buy a physical copy, I would always hope on the tube and go over to Leisure Games. Great FLGS...

Um, is the second last sentance of the final page of Final Saction not "DEATHWATCH will be available August 2010."?
History has taught me that most FFG planned for August hit at GenCon (usually) and then make it to the stores 4-8 weeks later.
that's why i love going to Gencon, though if you plan on getting it go the first day...early...like the first 5 minutes because last year they sold out of RT in 15 minutes on the first day...no im not joking i asked the sales clerk at the booth for FFG.
Both Deathwatch itself and the GM's kit show as being "on the boat" on FFG's | Upcoming | page. Depending on when exactly that updated, from 4-6 weeks to distributors and then about a week to the stores. So, mid to late August would be my guess.
I've found that the upcoming listings are quite accurate, given that they are updated regularly with the status of the products. I disregard any other companies "official" release dates for FFG product, especially Amazon.

I did not see that, it says on the last page of Final Sanction that it will be released in August, so that is good news! though no actual date. Good Spot!
I'm just wondering if they'll have it at Gen Con, I sure hope so. But by this point last year we had confirmation of Rogue Trader being there through numerous sources.
You guys do know that they might sell them at the Baltimore Games Day Right? That is on August 21st.
Well when I was at CONvergence, in Minneapolis, MN, I talked to an "un" official "official" of FFG. and he/she said that they will have advance copies for GenCon and release for public right after that.... So take what you can from it.... I think that the pre orders should open next week.. for mid August.
I know I'll be there Thursday morning right away to either get one, or ask when they go on sale (Likely just like Rogue Trader it will be at 11... so I'll be in line at 10:30 if so)
Isn't Into the Storm meant to be out at the same time?
Amazon lists that as coming out in October!!!
It's odd that no one has a firmer date. I mean, I know putting release dates out too far ahead of time can be like painting yourself into a corner, but as they're on the boat, surely FFG would have a closer idea?
BYE
After last years nerd rage fest over Rogue Trader FFG took the stance of not telling release dates.
Based on last year what will probably happen is:
A few hundred copies will be available at GenCon. They will sell out.
Nerd rage of not getting to the booth fast enough will follow.
Nerd rage over not being able to attend GenCon will follow that.
Nerd rage over " I was at GenCon and I didn't know they were gonna sell them there"
Nerd rage, nerd rage, nerd rage....
The bulk of the books will be going through customs, this takes a while.
Nerd rage, nerd rage, nerd rage....

Mid November to Late December most major questions are hashed out on forums.
January + How do I do X/ Why isn't this chapter included?
February+ How do I do X/ Why isn't this chapter included?
March+ How do I do X/ Why isn't this chapter included?
April+ How do I do X/ Why isn't this chapter included?
Etc........
* Just paraphrasing
Haha, yea, you know it's true
I've got my copy pre-ordered, so as soon as I have my copy and I've read it, you can guarantee that I'll have a review of it up
@ItsUncertainWho: You forgot the part where FFG surprises us with a supplemental book adding chapters and people complain why a certain chapter still isn't there. FFG should realize its just a losing battle... they won't hear the end of it all till there is a book with the other 994 chapters, all with their own distinct rules and equipment.
