DE Epic Spell, support cards & tactic question.

By Drakson, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

I have been DE against my wife with Dwarf. I put these support cards on her Dwarf units, World of Pain (attached unit cannot attack), Mind Killer (attached unit loses one power). If I then play my Epic Spell "Your Will is Mine", where I take control of her units in a zone and move them to mine and want to attack her with her own units how do I handle the support cards above. Do they not count while I have her units till the end of turn or are there wording still active as far as not being able to attack or losing one power.

Another questions: If I have Witch Hag Curse (treat as if printed text is blank) on Dwarf unit but it is attacking and I use the tactic "Take Captive" would the text box still be treated as blank? Also if she had a support on that unit giving it more power such as Great Book of Grundges (attach to target unit and it gains 2 power) does the Witch Hag curse only affect the unit itself or also the attachment card. Then again if I took it with Take Captive should I take the unit and the attachment to use against the opponent.

All in all I am really enjoying this game. A league is starting Saturday July 11 at the Bookery Fantasy in Fairborn, Ohio and I am going to join. Should be fun.

Why would support cards stop working? In this case, your earlier work to slow/hamper with her units makes your stealing of her units less effective. Also, with "Your Will Is Mine" is permanent, you keep the units forever (or at least until they die or game ends).

Again, the attachment doesn't go away just because control of the unit changes. And WHC doesn't touch any attachments on the unit, just blanks the unit. Finally, it has not been clarified yet (I don't think), but in Call of Cthulhu LCG, if you take control of an opponent's unit (char in that game), they still retain control of any attachments on that unit. So in CoC, I take control of a character with Shotgun attached, my opponent still is the one who can use the Shotgun. W:I is still waiting for the final word on this matter, but until then, I'll be playing with the CoC-approach, attachments are still usable by your opponent, you only get the unit. So in this case, if the unit leaves play, you would suffer the 6 indirect dmg from the Book.

Your will is mine is not a permanent change of control. it has no duration so it expires at the end of the turn.

So Forced March is only until the end of the turn as well? Both move units from zone to zone, with no mention of duration.

Is there a rule somewhere that says Tactics expire at the end of the turn unless specified? Because there are about 30 cards with "until the end of the turn" wording, so it makes sense that the effect is permanent unless specified.

Blessing of Valaya is one such card that got an official answer that it is until the end of the turn. I agree with what Clamatius wrote over on BGG:

"Yeah, the ruling was for Blessing of Valaya - the effect wears off at end of turn if the unit doesn't take damage. I think James misspoke when he said that all effects wear off at end of turn unless otherwise stated - instead, he should have said that effects wear off at end of turn if not denoted permanently (card location, face up/face down, counters on it, etc)."

Yeah, doesn't really make sense to me for Your Will is Mine and Forced March to last until end of turn, but I guess if that's what the email says, then people could make a good case for it until it gets updated. Seems to me like it will probably be corrected, but I also never would have imagined that Greatswords gets its own bonus as it comes into play.
