Pointless Speculation

By Face Eater, in Deathwatch

So the GM kit has been announced as well. It doesn't mention any additional character options, I know a couple of people thought it would include a 'create your chapter system'.

I hope this is something they include in the players guide (IHB equivalent book) as it's impossible to include all the cannon chapters let alone the home brew ones.

The 6 in the main rules aren't really a surprise to anyone, I was surprised that FFG or BI didn't excerise the licences free SM Chapter when DH came out but I can see why they didn't.

But I'm also hoping that do include the background to play some of the other well known chapters. The other first foundings for a start White Scars, Imperial Fists, Raven Guard, Salamanders, Iron Hands. It would be a bit of an insult to the Primarchs if they included some of them but not all IMHO.

But I also hope they slip in some of the chapters with famous xeno hating back stories, The Crimson Fists (if the setting date is correct) would be perfect being really well known and I'd love to see the Scythes of the Emporer turn up (although they are pretty obscure).

Finally I know there's a few chapters that closely tied to the inquisition. Not that I can remember them. Can anyone think of any?

The Exorcists, but I think they mainly work with the Ordo Malleus.

I would be surprised if they included "Chapter creation rules" in the publication that sits within the GM kit. That seems to be desired enough that throwing it into the " Inquisitors Handbook "-equivalent would be more lucrative. Then again, who knows what madness/genius FFG are going to come up with? gran_risa.gif I, for one, will look forward to seeing what they do and which it is...

As to Chapters aligned with the Inquisition, one feels almost embarrassed to point this out but... Grey Knights.

This journal has some information. Such as the following ling

"During the creation of the Storm Wardens, I took a lot of notes about what I learned along way—because I knew that I could apply these lessons towards making a thorough create-your-own-Chapter system for an upcoming Deathwatch supplement."

I think that the question was more about whether said supplement would be the GM kit or not, Jalinth.

Reading comprehension right after crawling out of bed is somewhat less then it would otherwise be.

Oh well, someone's going to ask for the link in some context anyway.

The Red Hunters spring to mind. They're detailed extensively in the third Siege of Vraks book from Forge World.

My thoughts exactly. Same with the Grey Knights. I mean you could set up a game as a group of one or the other, most of the specialist gear is already in various DH books. But it's a bit out of the remit of Deathwatch so I doubt the'd include them.

I knew I'd read it some where. Doesn't mention it in the diary for the GM kit but that's nothing to be certain about...

I certainly hope they do release in one of the early suppliments as that level of choice would be very nice.

Of course. I knew it was a Red something chapter. Would be major fluff kudos to the writers for including that chapter as one of the standard chapter choices.
