Questions about GenCon events

By SeanXor, in Warhammer Invasion Community

I want to play Warhammer: Invasion at GenCon, so I began looking at some of the ticketed events and I had some questions as to how some of them are going to work.

My first question is how the King of the HIll Tournament works. The description of the event says: " There will be several "Hot Seats" and each player in one will take on contenders for the time limit until defeated. Lose and the person who defeats you takes the "Hot Seat".

How does this work? I understand that if you win in a hot seat you keep playing, but what happens if you lose to a person in a hot seat? Is it one loss and done?

My second question is about the Gen Con League is going to work. Basically, that is my question: How does it work? The description says "Play against other league members any time during the Gen Con weekend and meet back on Sunday for awards and prizes. A great way to play several games at Gen Con." This is appealing to me, but I am curious as to how it works. The description says the rules on how this league will work will be explained, but I was hoping someone could shed some light on it now. Thanks!

The last event of this nature was last year.

Players were awarded 10 tokens (for any or all of the games they're participated in). Shaped after the game of its relation (green one's for cthulhu last year, red, iirc, for AGoT, perhaps yellow this year for W:I). You also got a ribbon to designate you as a participant of that event. Then, anywhere, anytime, it was an honor system to have people play other players, ante up one token. Lose, you lose your token to the other player. Standard tournament rules for the casual games. You could change your 'league' deck whenever you wanted (obviously not in the middle of a match).

If you lost all of your tokens, you were out. If you were caught making 'deals' with another player, if anyone has any doubts on that, even false accusations, you were immediately disqualified from the entire weekends events (all of them by FFG), so cheating was a big, no no.

On sunday, the person with the most tokens wins (last year for UFS I think someone had 27... someone else had over 30, but he showed up too late, hence this years later 'tally' time probably).

I assume this will be the same format as last year. I could be wrong. :)
