Sigmar's Hammer Card

By angrydragon, in WFRP Rules Questions

We are having some confusion on the rules for the Sigmar's Hammer card. The rule is "3 favour without needing to curry favour." Does this mean that you currently already need to have accrued 3 favour in order to use this or does it mean you can pretty much use this whenever at no consiquence to currying favour?

Any group's house rules or interpretation for this card would be greatly received.

Thank you

i think it means you need to have three favor before you can use this action. the "without currying favour" letting us know that this breaks the standard rule of being allowed to curry favor to complete the action later.

Yeah, because it's essentially a melee attack you have to have the required favour ready the moment you attempt it. You still need to adjust your favour levels when it is cast but you won't be able to curry favour in order to power it.

I don't have my cards with me, but can you only Curry favour once a spell has been cast, is that a requirement of the curry favour card at all?

In other words, can a priest choose to curry favour at any time, much like a wizard can channel power, or does it specifically say that Priests can only curry favour once they have a spell active and awaiting more favour to complete?

It must be used to power an already invoked blessing. Therefore, istm, that as far as Sigmar's Hammer is concerned you would have to power that with naturally accrued equilibrium Favour. Although, in this case that's not much of an issue because it has a recharge of 4.

i think if you had invoked a blessing the turn before and had left over favour, you could use that favour to fuel sigmar's hammer. you just have to have enough favour up front.

thanks a lot that makes sence
