Prime Tyranid

By WillisRBC, in Deathwatch

The sequel adventure for Deathwatch mentions fighting a prime tyranid if the players choose to do so. It doesn't give stats for the prime variants of the bugs though. Anyone have any insight into this issue, or am I just missing something?

Thanks.

Read page 21 carefully...

In addition to the Hordes, the chamber also contains a massive
Tyranid Prime (count this as a Tyranid Warrior with Unnatural
Strength x3 and 100 Wounds).

You are missing the page 21 on the adventure booklet. Apparently it is a tyranid warrior with unnatural strenght x3 and 100 wounds.

Might as well have made it a Hive Tyrant...

Please! They like to be called Tyranid Prime.

(It's what happens when a Tyranid Warrior picks up the creation matrix).

You think that's scary, you should see a hive tyrant!

I'm sure we will.

But that would require another stat block.

Which is probably why they didn't go for the Hive Tyrant.

I'm using a Lictor from Creatures Anathema as a stealthy hit-an-run opponent in Oblivion's Edge. Great for building tension and keeping the marines moving. I have it strike at the worst possible time (like when the marines are clearing debris from a road for the Rhinos) and take off as quickly as it appeared.

Hahahahahaha!!!! "Hive mind lifestyle is the right of all sentient beings."

[megatron] PRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! [/megatron]

Seriously, though, the Tyranid Prime does exist in 40k - it's the beefed up strain of warrior which becomes an HQ choice.

For some reason, reading this title I got the mental imagery of a Tyranid Prime in a suit with a smarmy english accent going ' Prime... Tyranid Prime.

Exactly, it's a Tyranid warrior with an extra dose of awsome. Considering that the Tyranids are known, in the fluff, for taking out space marine companies, i'm gladd FFG make them appropriately chalenging to a Deathwatch team.
