Infiltrate Quest Card - Question

By TempestBlade, in Warhammer Invasion Rules Questions

Hey folks

Just purchased Warhammer Invasion, looks a great game. Hoping to take it on holiday to give my girlfriend's younger brother something geeky to play.

This forum (and the FAQ) have been really helpful with the many questions I had after playing a demo game against myself (yes, very cool I know gui%C3%B1o.gif ).

The only big one to which I could not find a satisfactory answer was regarding the Infiltrate Quest card.

1 Resource token a turn goes onto the Quest card (provided there's a unit of course) and then at the start of the owning players turn you discard X number of cards from the top of the opponent's deck. With X being the number of resource tokens on the quest card.

My confusion comes with the seeming lack of cost. Usually Quest Cards seem to specify that in order to use the effect on the card, sacrificing the unit on the quest for example. So with no cost mentioned, does this mean that every turn Infiltrate just keeps draining cards? Or do the Resource Tokens get used up when activated (which is every turn since the action on the card if Forced ).

Poorly explained, but I imagine its not good forum practice to copy text straight from a card...

Also have a couple of lesser questions, but I thought I'd test the water and try to keep posts down to a question at a time :)

Thanks in advance to any helpers!

No, Infiltrate! Quest has no cost or requirement, apart from having a unit questing on it. After that it will drain cards at a rate of 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. as long as the unit is on the quest. When you have two forced effects kicking in at the same time, active player chooses the order.

Thanks a lot for the speedy response :)

Wow that makes that Quest pretty powerful then right (given that if a player's deck ever runs out, he loses?).

One other minor query was over Troll Vomit. Does it wipe out every unit in play, both the opponent and yours, or just the opponents? The former seems pretty ridiculously powerful for a 4 resource tactic.

Troll Vomit is a full-blown clear out card, every unit goes poof. Da Brainbusta from Arcane Fire is a more expensive form of TV, but only destroys all of your opponent's units.

Troll Vomit destroys all units in play. Also, the card art is both hilarious, disgusting, and horrifying all at the same time :)

EDIT: Notice how I misused the word both in the previous sentence.

Lol you've got to love an edit which doesn't change the mistake, just points it out for all to notice gui%C3%B1o.gif

Thanks for the speedy responses guys, I'm hoping to iron out these misconceptions before we head on holiday.

Seems like a really good game, only got the core set at the moment but that seems to have a lot going on in it.

Infiltrate tends to draw the ire of your opponent. It's likely they will do what they can to stop kill the unit you have on the quest. Make sure he's tough.

Just checking that I've understood the card correctly. Will the first forced effect on the card (discard x cards) continue to work even if there is no questing unit on the card? So if I have 3 tokens on the card and my questing unit gets killed, the card will continue to force my opponent to discard 3 cards each turn. Or are the tokens removed when the questing unit is killed?

edit: never mind, found the answer in the core rules, the tokens get removed.
