Eh... What to do, what to do?

By Immortal-JyNxX, in UFS General Discussion

So my job(s) has been killing my life as a CCGamer. After missing the last UFS set in general I stuck to "New SF coming/New Bison coming" to light a fire under my arse of excitement for UFS. So here I am a whole 2 weeks off of work. Ready to dive head first into some UFS then I get a txt from Magnus... "You're gonna be pissed, the new Bison is ass." Granted I never thought Bison would be stellar. The big names of the games that make up UFS has a slim chance of being really great! The Terry's and Ryu's of the world will always stay in the "ok" zone. Then I got Bison in my hands ans thought "what the hell am I supposed to do with this BLEEP besides admire the BLEEPING art?" The R is overcosted and the E is almost unplayable. Handsize and Vitality are a joke for such boring(nicest word I could think of) effects. What really bugged me was how nice Balrog and Nightmare Geese ended up and besides Bison its an othewise great set. I mean really he's the only bad character, heh even T. Hawk is a little cool. Being that I can't play at the pace I did before. I don't know if I should try my damned best to make the best out of a casual play Bison deck or just pack it up and sell my BRT's while there's still cha chingable? Guidence needed :)

Oh and no SF for a year doesn't help make me too happy...

One more thing if anyone knows any cards I've miss that can work well with Bison please tell...

Why not use the new support cards with the recent promo bison instead?

This is the best way to do it really. Bison's support in this set is awesome, and you can put promo Bison to good use now. I know I might.

<---------- Card Text for people who haven't seen him yet:

So prior to set 11, one of the biggest complaints that we heard was people commenting about how the game has turned into foundation wars.

Bison's R smacks some of those folks around and basically says "hey, stop Eing, and start playing the game." I've sat across from folks who sit there and say:

E: Kitty Spike card text
E: Lord of the Makai - Momentum
E: Multiple
E: I'm playing solitar
E: No really... I'm playing solitaire!
...and on...and on... and on... until they've finished their turn of doom and you're dead.

How about all the gorgeous team / rejection shenangins, where they basically ensure that your attack is getting zero'd, but they have to bait one or two e's first for whatever reason. Not anymore.

Is this a meta character? Absolutely. Do you maybe not main deck him, and instead stick him in your sideboard? perhaps.

But that's just the R.

The E is by no means as obvious. However people were heard uttering "where's the payoff for running 2 checks?" If you can find out a way to rig your checks (not like Order has ever had a way to do that) then you're getting 2 bonus cards into hand at the cost of committing a foundation.

I'm not going to build the deck for you, but there are certainly some abilities that if you build it off of order alone is fairly dumb.

BTW, I know he doesn't have Air, Water, or Chaos, but take a look at Stained Honor. If you can find a way to get that into your card pool <Buddhist Devotion?> it basically changes the E to: "IF Bison commits 2 foundations he draws 2 cards."

Keep in mind, I hear there's a guy from New York who built a deck earlier this year that while utilizing 4 different resources he managed to pilot it to win him a championship card. (And people said the character was janky when it came out too.)

Oh... and there's been a few threads about stacking, people complaining about stacking not being viable in the game at the moment. I think there is a solid basis here for a control deck.

I dunno... I'm seeing a deck. But then again I stacked *Bison* with ***Bison*** and had fun a couple of years ago.

And then there's Tag's comment about about Bison's new support... which is REALLY good. IMO.

P.S. - I hear Order is hawt. I'm an order Junkie to begin with so I'm a little biased there.

P.P.S. - Why am I starting to look at this and see an article... (I think that means it's time to go to bed.)

Osei you just need to beg Steve and James to make the old one legal again then you will be gravy haha. But seriously I think order with the promo will be your best bet good luck man see ya in the arena this season!!

Well on the new bison's enhance, its not like we DON'T have visions of destiny within evil...

And honestly... a character witha built in "knock that *explitive* off!"? How is that crap?

Many... MANY games has my opponent spamming abilities left and right on things... Sure it doesn't stop gergeous team > rejection but it does stop him from doing that for each of his gorgeous teams. And two foundations IS harsh, but guess what... Its a permanent 'no more fancy pants' ability.

It also stops reversals and breaker. Its offensive and defensive. Yeah its costly... what would you have costed it at? 1 foundations too cheap, come on.

Anyhow yeah. Not OMFG MUST PLAY NOAH (though I was very tempted to build something the second I heard about it), but its respectable and on par with most characters being put out there days. Yeah its no UR Bison SF02 but who is, lately?

No it doesn't.

Unless Reversals and Breaker occur in the Enhance phase.

The new Bison, much like the newest Terry and the new Rock are absolute garbage.

Bison's support on the other hand is increadible. Like, all of it. As such, use the Promo Bison or hell, even play the Deadly Ground anti haxx Bison.

BWAHAHAH sorry I fail at reading. (fundamental and all that).

He's still offensive and defensive though, eh?

at least hes playable unlike say the new Nakoruru

other than chichiushi (even though the nako enhance is kinda* alright) and annu mutsube her support cards are terrible and I'm not talking about just the art...

Bison has a crap load of support that cancels abilities and a response that prevents more...

That being said he gets a psudo kill card in Psycho crusher extra, the promo is **** good off evil, and can run the following cards in block 3 of evil:

Chesters backing, The Anti K, rejection, Expelled humanity, The ways of Punishment, Blood runs true, Red lotus of the sun, charismatic, billiard player, the evil-doer destroyer

If anything the biggest problem with him isnt his powerlevel, just how many URs he tends to need.

I'll debate you on THAT elsewhere, sir!

Anyway. He's not immediately awesome, but with some work, I could see him shining. He has fantastic symbols and stats, and the R is fairly useful (though costly). And if nothing else, he can be a sangbag for something that wouldn't necessarily get through diversity. Not sure about that E, though. Then again, Brian has a point: Visions of Destiny to rig the check and draw 2. And I know you love Ira-Spinta (who wouldn't?), so that's at least 4 of those necessary 2-checks down. Iunno. If nothing else, that promo is very hawt.

the new bison ain't that bad, and the promo is amazing, so just do what everyone says and run the promo.
