More encounters in the tesseract

By Skie, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Hey all

I'd like to ask all GMs who have run, or are planning to run, 'Dead Stars' for more encounter ideas that occur in the machine. Especially some involving solving riddles, or based on skills like charm/intimidate - ie. non-combat encounters. I'll be starting 'Dead Stars' next week and it'll take probably 3-4 game sessions to even get there, so I hope to find some great ideas here!

And I know I will, you people have great ideas!

!MASSIVE SPOILERS OF DEAD STARS AHEAD!

[Traitors in the court]
The pc step out of the silver door in what appears a high arc corridor of clearly imperial design. If any pc ever was there, he will recognize the corridors of the Tri-Corn palace. They follow the shadow of Haarlock throug the corridors till they hear a speach given and enter an oratorium. There, a discussion is going on among and the crowd consists of a Inquisitors and their retinues (some of them known to the pc by face, perhaps even their master is present). The emporium discussion is about a huge heretical threat, a powerfull individual and how to best confront him. Strangely, they see Inquisitors of very different lines putting things aside and being rather cooperative. Still their is some dispute on how to put an end to "this challenge that threates to split the imperium". They overhear two unknown Inquisitors, one saying that "this is perfect! We couldn“t have fabricated it any better!" [Plot Hook: This are Istavaanians]. The shadow leaves through another arcway and the pc try to follow. While moving through the crowd, they realise that the crowd sees them and that they are able to phsyically interact with them. As they pass by, the crowds start to react to theme with unbelieving uttering ("no..that cannot be them" "they look just like them" "that cannot be!") Suddenly, some scream "LOOK! They are here among us! The archtraitors that brought about the return of Haarlock!"

The pc will have to make a run for it, following the shadow of Haarlock to the next silver door (the shadow is alway just a corner ahead of them, no matter how fast they run).
