Sorry, when I rewrote the example I had forgotten how many gates you said were open.

More questions.

Can you use clue tokens in the outer world for rerolls. An example was a Yuggoth encounter. A creature stares at me and I roll a die then -2 from the total, that is how much stamina and sanity I lose. Luck was not with me and I rolled a 6. My investigater would have been devoured so I used a clue token and I rerolled a 3. Or should I have been devoured?

Do any of the mythos cards affect the outer world. Such as an increase in monster toughness, then on the next turn I pull a monster and it appears in the outer world(that matches the monster listed for increase in toughness)? Does weather affect the outer world?

If I do a fight check in the outer world, do I use my weapon modifiers? Or just my base score?

I got the Ally Duke in an encounter. It says Maximum+1 Sanity (or discard to restore Sanity). However, I do not have Ashcan Pete, can I still have that investigator have a new maximum Sanity?

If I fail a Find Gate spell can I still move my character?

Once again to everyone, thanks for the help.

Right now my friends and I feel tht the best balance is a 4 player game (Randomly choosing characters, but picking out the AO). It gives you enough time to check out a store or 2 if you started with bad gear(as long as you don't have any early monster surges). :)

Meant if I do a fight check becuase of a card, not if a monster appears

1. I'm pretty sure that clue tokens only add dice to skill rolls if the card just says roll a dice and this happens you cannot use clues to manipulate it.

2. The key phrase is "in Arkham" if it says this then it will not affect the otherworld otherwise it will. I may be forgetting if there are exceptions to this.

3. when you do a fight check you only use your fight, weapons add to your combat.

4. Duke does increase the maximum sanity of anyone who he hangs out with.

5. As far as I know this spell does not prevent normal movement if failed.

First misstep is that Clues aren't rerolls, they add dice. The encounter in question isn't a skill check, so no Clue, but say Clues were usable, then you'd roll 6, use Clue and roll a 3. Now you would've lost 7 (6+3-2) Stamina + Sanity partido_risa.gif . So probably wouldn't have used any Clues (unless you wanted to be devoured).
