Alternative Card Sleeves

By Nezabyte, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

So I have a lesson-learned story to share about card sleeves. Since FFG is out of stock, I did some research on card sleeves to find the perfect ones for Warhammer Roleplay. I came upon Mayday Games card sleeves. I matched the sizes and went with their regular and mini sized sleeves; they were the same size as advertised for FFG's recommended sizes, so I assumed they'd be perfect.

However! It turns out Mayday's standard/mini sleeves are a few mm off and didn't fit properly, causing the cards to bend a bit and having like a mm of the card stick out from the top. So I was pretty bummed out until I realized they have sleeves called chimera and mini-chimera, which just so happen to be a 1-2 mm bigger than the cards and end up being an excellent fit :)

So yeah, happy ending there and just a bit of advice for those looking for sleeves.

I find the Mayday Games chimera and mini-chimera sleeves much better than the FFG ones. They are not so thick, and sleeved cards don't slide apart when you stack them. This frustrated me to no end in Arkham Horror, so I've tried MDG sleeves and love them so far.

And they're cheaper, too.

Good to hear they're working well for you, too :) I definitely love the money saved from buying 'em since I need so many. Plus my local shop is one of the official distributors, so I can just go pick 'em up instead of ordering online.
