Imperial Assassin or Bloodletter

By Yumarr, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Hi!

I'm mastering "Illumination" as my first DH adventure. One of my players chose to be an assassin armed with a Great Sword provided with Mono upgrade.

Plus this guy is a Moritat (Inquisitor background package), and lately he took the "Swift Attack" Talent and the "Furious Assault" one.

I think that the Moritat "The Bloody Edge" can be used with that weapon to roll 2 + 2 dice choosing the highest value in every in pair (because he treats all swords as Tearing), no problem here.

My question instead is about the two talents above:

They should not be two different actions (the first says Full Action move, but the All Out Attack is still a Full Action move). If they are cumulative can the "Furious assault" bonus be used with both the "swift attack" attacks?

Sorry for my english.

They can't be used both during the same round.

Furious Assault can only be used making an all out attack* (WS +20, no pary, no dodge).

Whereas Swift Attack can only be used with the multiple attacks action*.

This 2 actions are both complete actions and, so, not cumulative. gui%C3%B1o.gif

It works a little differently - however many damage dice you get from your weapon, with Tearing you roll one extra die and discard one. For a Great Weapon, you'd thus roll three dice of which you keep any two.

No. Swift Attack and All Out Attack are mutually exclusive - All Out is not a modifier for other attacks, but an attack in its own right.

Thanks all for the answers!!

My friend will not be pleased! :-D

You do have one other minor problem.

Actually, it would only be 2 + 1 dice rolled. Tearing provides one extra die not one for each die rolled. From the errata:

  • Tearing weapons are vicious devices, often using multitudes of
fast-moving jagged teeth or fragmented or explosive ammunition
to rip into flesh and bone. These weapons roll one extra die
for damage, and the lowest result is discarded.
