i got a second set recently and the dice had foil lore symbols? my other copy and my replacement dice did not have these has anyone else spotted them?

Foil lore symbols were the original games dice. After the dice were found to wear out quickly, DoW replaced them with the "normal" lore dice. The second edition and the replacement dice are likely the same, though neither really solved the wearing out problem.
