Hi,
Quick question: If One Fist holds a sword, when he attacks with his hook does he receive the off-hand bonus?
Thanks!

Technically no. The off hand bonus rules require the wielding of two 1H weapons (DJitD pg19), and the hook isn't actually a weapon , just a free melee attack with specified dice (+ trait).
However IMO this is just a badly written rule that hasn't ever been updated. There is an expansion hero (Laughlin Buldar) whose special ability is to wield a 2H weapon in one hand. So with a 2H weapon and 1H weapon (which is what is depicted in the miniature) he technically can't benefit from an off hand bonus and his speial ability is only usable with shields - contrary to the actual figurine.
We house rule so that if you are making a melee attack and have a secondary 1H melee weapon not being used in the attack you can claim the off-hand bonus. This allows One-Fist to get the bonus from a sword and Laughlin to wield a 2H+1H combo effectively.
Thanks for the clarification. I agree that it isn't well worded. I think that we'll adopt that rule as well: that One Fist can benefit from the off-hand bonus.
Again, thanks for the help =).

Haven't we discussed this a couple of times already?
Laughin Buldar's ability is not to "wield a two-handed weapon in one hand ," but to "use a single two-handed melee weapon as if it were a one-handed weapon ." So you can actually make a very solid case that he should be able to get an Off-Hand Bonus even if you go strictly by the letter of the rules.
And One-Fist is not an expansion hero; he was published in the same box as the original rulebook, so there's no particular reason to believe that the dual-wielding rules are obsolete.
Not that it would be remotely surprising if they were simply wrong ...

Yes we have. I never do remember the Laughlin details correctly, sorry. I did not however claim that One-Fist was an expansion hero.

I definitely interpreted Buldar's ability this way (ie: that he can make one 2H weapon count as a 1H weapon and thus he could use an off-hand bonus.) The only game we played with Buldar in it, though, he ended up using a 2h weapon and a shield the whole time, so this particular rule never got raised.
As far One Fist goes, I don't think that allowing the off-hand bonus on his hook attack would be particularly overpowered, if people want to play it that way.
I just wish One Fist got to use surges
