Nominations for Most Popular Card Art - Corruption Cycle

By Artemus Maximus, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

Hello again fellow Warhammer Invasion..ers lengua.gif

I thought it would be interesting to see if there were certain cards / artists that people consistantly felt had above average artwork, in their opinion.

While art is considered by most to be subjective, it is undeniably popular & unpopular (rather than good/bad imho). I would just like to give FFG the chance to hear our opinions in order to give them feedback on what some of its WH:I fans & players like!

I'd suggest nominations be for Core Set, Asault on Ulthuan, and BPs 1-6 of the corruption cycle at this point

Please include card name & artist for their recognition!

I'll submit the most Iconic card to me is Bloodthirster by Daarken. It has that signature Warhammer gritty, as opposed to sterile or cartoony, fantasy atmosphere to it. Its sense of power successfully reflects the card's actual fearsome power in the game, framed nicely showing the Bloodthirster's respective size by choosing not to crop and only include its face. I think this work is something that set the bar high for this game. If someone asked me out of curiosity what this game looked like by seeing a couple cards, i'd definitely show this one. :)

I think the Bloodsworn look really cool and Bule Lord of Pus is just oozing with theme (pun intended) they also fit in right with the chaos theme, they look like the perfect exapmles of chaos.

there was others, just going by memory now, but there was one dark elf card i really liked, i will post which one when i get my cards latter for a game.

The orc logo. The one I have as avatar.

My favorite artist atm has to be Wayne Reynolds, artist for the Rat Ogres card, Orcus for 4ths Monster Manual cover, Pathfinder...

Such a unique look and it grabs the eye, or at least mine.

ooo that looks amazing :D

love rat ogres too - so different from the other skaven but still distinctively skaven

Hi,

It is a hard question, as I like many arts from the set. I think the top 3 for me :

Witch Hag's Curse, Deathmaster Snitch and Gurni T. Both of these gave me "OMG !" feeling when I first seen them.

Cain

I immediately loved Gurni T. too when i saw it - after analyzing, i noticed it's because he has lots of warm colors in him against a virtually neutral monochromatic background and also - for my 3 copies at least - the actual card border (the Dwarf-brown part) is noticibly darker than most other dwarves, making its art pop more - my opinion
