House Frey Qs

By Stormtower2, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I'm still a newbie to this game... and I've been collecting Valyrian Edition cards.

Question 1: Are there any other House Frey cards, aside from the ones in the Valyrian Edition?

Question 2: consider this character:

Young Walder

cost (2)

STR (0)

Military, Power
House Frey

Young Walder gets +1 STR for each House Frey character you control.

When I put him into play, does he "count himself" ... so if there's no other House Frey character around except for him, he's still a 1-strength character?

2 Young Walders (and nothing else) would be two 2-str characters ... ?

and with The Twins agenda, which allows for 5 copies of any House Frey card, I can conceivably get five 5-strength characters with all five Young Walders out?

Question 3: What is a "Walder" ... and why is "Walder Frey" a "Walder" ... any relation to "Young Walder"?

Thanks all!

Some. Not many. There is currently only 1 in the LCG.

Yes. He counts for his own ability. The rest is math.

That's all part of the books. Walder Frey is a lord with a whole lot of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A bunch of them are named "Walder," just like him. The card just represents one of the many essentially faceless characters in the books with the name "Walder Frey."

Thanks for the answers, ktom!

Ahhh! I'm in the middle of the first book, and I do remember reading about Lord Frey. Call me dense! It didn't occur to me that those twin castles would be full of "juniors"!

Thanks again!

Juniors, grand-juniors, great-grand juniors, cousins, bastahd children named Walder. Yeah the "Late" Lord Frey has some longevity issues.

Valyrian : Toll collector, Host of the twins, Walder Frey, Young Walder.

A Reign of King s: Black Walder, Frey lordling, Roslin Frey.

A Song of Twilight : Frey Outrider.

A Time of Ravens : Walder Frey.

They should all be here. Just 9 cards.

Hmmm ... would you happen to know if the Reign of Kings cards are common and uncommons? That might encourage me to buy Reign of Kings boosters ...

Roslyn Frey is rare, Black Walder is uncommon and Frey Lordling is common
