Salt wife and Seductive Promise

By mischraum.de, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

If I have two salt wives (Response: Kneel 2 influence to save an Ironborn character from being killed. (Limit once per phase.)) in play and can spend two times two influence I can save two Ironborn characters. At least this is how we played this in our group. Because the limit means one save per phase per salt wife.

But a card like Seductive Promise seems to get handled differently: Response: After you win a P challenge by 4 or more total STR, choose a non-unique character controlled by the losing opponent. Take control of that character. Limit 1 per phase. One could argue if I have two Seductive Promise this should be like the salt wife's response. Can you explain to me what's the difference? Or do we play the salt wife wrong?

The difference is where you are triggering the effect from. Limits written on effects that are triggered when the card is in play are essentially considered "self-referential" (for that card) and refer to that card only. So yes, you could use each Salt Wife one time each. Limits written on effects that are triggered when the card is not in play (primarily events) are essentially considered "global" (for that player) refer to all cards of the same name similarly triggered by that player. So no, you could not play a second copy of Seductive Promise from your hand for the same Power challenge.
