Boats in Sea of Blood

By Radish, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hey just a few quick questions that we can't seem to find the answers to in the rulebook. Can a character be knocked off a boat via cannons or other knock back abilities. Second if they can is there a way to get back onto the boat? If you can't what happens when all the heros have been knock off but don't die and can they use abilities such as "rest" or whatever while they are treading water. Also the island section mentions boarding the boat but it doesn't really say how you do that.

Any help with those questions would be really helpful thanks!

Yes.

Yes, but if you get back on the ship over the railing, you must spend 1 more movement point. Pdf rules, p. 27: "Railing: A ship’s railing provides partial protection to its crew, and is difficult to climb over. A figure that crosses the railing to climb aboard the ship must spend 1 extra movement point, unless it is soaring."

It just means getting back on the ship, in case you want to flee the island. To do so, the heroes must raise the anchor as explained on p. 24, and sail the ship towards the edge of the map like they would try to do when fleeing a sea encounter.

You can get knocked off the boat by Knockback effects, yes. You can get back on by moving from water to boat. As Ispher said, if you cross over a railing there's extra MP involved, if you don't it's just one space. The third dimension is not well defined in Descent.
