expansions

By Toxicjedi, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hello everyone, i am starting to get the expansions to Descent and was wondering what other people do with the expansions, meaning do you put everything in one box mixed up or store them completly separate. not sure whats the best thing to do.

Any ideas would help out alot...thanks in advance...Toxicjedi

Toss it all in together.

I toss it all in together. There's relatively little reason to take them apart again, in my experience. If you decide you want to though, everything is neatly marked with an expansion icon so you can do so easily.

Sorry i did not respond back sooner, thanks for the input.

I've noticed that SoB and RtL don't mix in very well, partly due to the replicated components and also because of the specific items for those games only (i.e. ship cards, Tamalir cards, etc). Also, SoB replaces a lot of skill cards, which kind of screws up my decks if I don't remember to separate them at the end of a session.

But of the "vanilla" expansions, they all mix perfectly and there is no reason to keep them separated.

Advanced Campaigns cannot be mixed. They are supposed to be separate episodes.

This discussion is about the playing pieces, not the gaming itself. Chucking everything together from all expansions for storage etc works pretty well - eg all the monsters etc get stored together, all the terrain type props get stored together, all the hero-need counters get stored together fatigue, wounds, cash, maybe potions etc) and so on, often with sub-compartments for different counters depending on your storage system.
Except SoB and RtL which take a lot of cards out as well as just adding cards in, and also do it differently from each other, which makes it difficult to store their cards together. I think everything else form those can be stored together though.
