Walkers, Transports and Tanks oh my!

By CrazzyJimmy, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

I know that they are coming out with rules for such things like Rhino Transports and the like, but what about something like a Chimera Transport or a Sentinle Walker? Are these already in Dark Heresy (since a Guardsman can get Drive (Transport) and Drive (Walker) )....or were they not put in the game.

I ask this because my players are wanting to get some sort of ground transportation.

Also, how long does a void suit provide breathable air for a person?

Walkers are common in the Imperium, I'd be very suprised if there were not going to be rules for them in the up coming book along side other armored and unarmored vehicles. There are no vehicle rules in Dark Heresy, just the Apocrapha which are basicly house rules at this point.

As for Void Suits, I'd say it depends on the quality, but 1-5 hours seems reasonable between recharges. There may also be 'long term' void suits that carry larger tanks.

Cool. Thanks for the info.

Higher quality ones probably have filters for reoxidizing spent air instead of a tank.

The Selenite-pattern suits specify 10 hours; both in the IHB (page 165) and Rogue Trader (page 141). It is also described as having "dual re-breather cells," so I think a standard quality Void Suit would likely allow for 5 hours in most circumstances; though I can agree with higher quality suits having a air scrubber of sorts.

Interesting note, the base weight in the IHB is 20, with 5 more added if it includes the optional impeller. The stats in Rogue Trader weigh in at the full 25; apparently being the versions available at Footfall and Port Wander which include the impeller. Also, the Selenite suits are subject to Armor Quality rules.
