Hello, I just had a quick question regarding the various building support cards, i.e. Contested Village, Contested Gate etc.

When your opponent attacks a zone that you have one of these support cards in it, do you add the building's power icons to the damage you deal on defense? Or are the power icons on buildings purely for drawing more cards/gaining more resources?

I am pretty sure they do not add to damage as page 12 of the rulebook says "Each player counts the number of power icons on the units he controls that are participating in the battle: this is the amount of damage he will be inflicting on his opponent" (emphasis mine), but I wanted to be sure.

No, only units defend. Hammers on supports help you when they are in kingdom or quest since they give you more resources or cards respectively, but hammers on supports in the battlefield don't do anything.
