I am hoping (but not hopeful) for lab-based rules: potions, charms, imbuing items et al.

Haven't seen any of that in there... yet

This may seem trivial...but how is the packaging? Is it a sturdy box like the Core and Adventurer Toolkit? Or one like the Storm and GM Toolkit

Storm and GM toolkit. We've still managed to fit everything into the core box.

I picked up Winds of Magic today at my FLGS, so here's what's inside:

Books: Two books, each about the size of the Priest/Wizard books in the core set. One called "Liber Mutatis" - The Book of Change and the other is simply called "The Winds of Magic":

By Chapter:

Liber Mutatis:

Chapter 1: The Changer of Ways (a description of Tzeench, fluff, pg 3-12)

Chapter 2: Corruption and Mutation (fluff, pg. 13-15)

Chapter 3: Corruption Rules (rules, pg. 16-20)

Chapter 4: The Minions of Change (Bestiary: 5 new monster types with the 2 page layout pg. 21-31)

Chapter 5: Winds of Change (Adventure! pg. 32-48)

Winds of Magic:

Chapter 1: The Roots of Magic (cool fluff, pg 4-6)

Chapter 2: The Great Colleges (similar to preview, fluff, pg. 7-13)

Chapter 3: College Hierarchy (some fluff some rules, havne't read through it yet, pg. 14-18)

Chapter 4: Exotic Magic Disciplines (fluff about dwarf, elf, hedge wizards, chaos magic, etc., pg. 20-31)

Chapter 5: Expanded Magic rules (rules, and details on magic item cards pg 32-39)

Chapter 6: Playing a Wizard (roleplaying advice for each college, fluff, pg. 40-47)

Components: (I've already packed my stuff away, so I'm going on memory here)

New Careers (already listed elsewhere, 10 new careers) + special career ability cards and standups

New triangle shaped tokens (with symbol of Tzeench), new item cards (4 or 5, magic item related), new locations (4 or 5, adventure related)

New miscasts (5?)

New insanity cards (6?)

New order cards (no correction card for bright order)

New creature/NPC standups for new creatures in bestiary and (it looks like) one standup for each wizard college type

Another stance ring (who needs another one of these?), another hourglass token, more stance puzzle pieces.

3 new reputation talents, 3 new focus talents (I think), no new tactics talents

Mutation cards! (about 25?)

Mark of Tzeench cards (3) - now you can mark players with the Mark of Tzeench allowing a player to ... well maybe I shouldn't spoil it - but it's fekking cool.

Corruption tokens (a whole heap of them, 1's and 5's)

A few handouts for the adventure referred to above in the Liber Mutatis (I'd say what, but maybe it's a spoiler?)

Magic cards to cover 7 Rank 1, 3 Rank 2, and 3 Rank 3 spells in each college.

Think that's it - off to read now.

Thanks for the summary, gsoul!

Have to pick this up tomorrow... happy.gif

That was a better summary than I did... Thanks, I was actually gonna go to the Event Center today and write a more detailed one.

I thought yours was excellent as well. happy.gif

Just ordered gran_risa.gif

This time directly at distributor (for some strange reason FLGS stubbornly refused to add WoM to the product list, so I got tired of asking them to - I'm too impatient, and the moment I get patient is the moment I die lengua.gif).

Shipping starts tommorow, so I should have it on friday... can't wait...babeo.gif

Well they will usually arrive at the FFG: Event Center as a demo before anything so I will be tearing it open and putting it all together. I can give you a quick glance at everything.

Seems to only have standups for Jade, Gold, Amethyst, and Amber wizards. The Apprentice Wiazrd and Acolyte standups work for Grey and Bright wizards respectively. So that leaves no standups for Light or Celestial.

Interesting! Seems a good expansion, for what we read here...shame only that they have took time to put in some rather useless card like "quickcasting" instead of the olds, ever usefull, basic action cards to let a 4th (mage) player in!

For the celestial wizard standup, there is one suitable in the Gathering Storm adventure...

The Wizard career card depicts a Light Wizard, so there is in fact a standup for Light Wizards.

There is, unfortunately, no rules for lab work or elf magic (my standard rant here), but there are rules for several products of lab work like wands and luckstones.

are there action cards for tzeentch spells ?

What is precisely tzeentch marks power ?
