Regicide...what is it?

By ThenDoctor, in Dark Heresy

is regicide just a good 40k term for chess?

Basically it is chess, with 40,000 some odd years of rules drift.

From my understanding, the names are interchangeable. Least ways, several authors I know of; not just of 40K literature, use the terms so. Terry Pratchett is a fine example of one such author.

Literally it means the killing of a king or queen.

Regicide is as you have surmised, 41st. millenium Chess.

Besides, "Regicide" is a much more dignified name than "Exterminatus: the Board Game". I immagine some families on Malfi would call it something like "work"... partido_risa.gif

heh 'Operation Regicide' was the name of my PC's long-term Malfian mission... it involves killing lots of important people :P

Most of the nobles on Malfi actually call it "LIfe" (no relation to MB's game). And they all want to be the winner. Spin the dial, see how much time until the constituent chemicals of the binary poison mix together. Yay, I spun a 3!

Exterminatus: The Board Game!? FFG are you listening?

I of course would also accept Exterminatus the LCG. happy.gif
