"The Highlands" product quality / return questionI

I just purchased the highlands and was disappointed to find that the board in my box had a "value added feature" apparently it came pre torn. When I folded it out there are tears at both edges on one of the edges (the middle folding piece to the left) and the board paper is coming up off of the cardboard in that spot. This is literally brand new out of the plastic sleeve it was packaged in. I am so use to the high quality from FFG that this surprised me. Then, when I came to the FFG site to get contact info to ask for a replacement I can't find an email address, phone number or anything here. What gives? Is there anything I can do? Not pleased.

I had the same problem, the shop owner will give me a new copy until saturday. But I'm been waiting from 10 days. My post on FFg forum about that:

I have take a look at my highland board, and there is indeed a small tear on my highland board

When i folded it out, i saw the tear right away sad.gif

Finally got around to ordering this and Frostmarch via Amazon... not too bad on the pricing and free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime. Hopefully things will work out like they usually do and I'll get them in one day... you never know......

Can't wait to try everything out!

I'm sad to say it but Highland's quality is the worst until now, in my experience. I bought game base, dungeon and reaper exp. in Italian: perfect! frostmarch in english language: PERFECT! Highland in english: first try, tears for about 1,5 cm on both board's sides. obviously I've changed it with another copy...small tear on one side, and no Valkirie character card in the box!

I think it's unacceptable for an expansion that costs 40€.

Closest thing to a bad experience with quality control our group has encountered is a single gold coin missing from the base box, little annoying yes but not the end of the world

I have sent a mail to FFG about my board problem.

I hope that i hear something soon. I am gonna talk with the shop owner today. sad.gif

I must add myself to the list, having just recieved my belated father's day gift. At both folds of the board, the board top surface is split at one side of the fold. On one fold, the board playing surface has peel off by half and inch. I shall follow suit like others in contacting FFG.

ADDENDUM: From what I can see of packaging design, the board slides around inside the box during shipping. Since both board ends when folded protrude beyond the corner section, they hit the boxes sides and this causes the tearing and peeling. The real mistake here is that this size of a box is not necessary for a stack of cards and a foldover board.

I am gonna wait first for a mail from FFG.

If it is not resolved, then maybe that i get a new board from the shop owner

A quick update... within 72 hours after notifying FFG of the need and reason for a new Highlands board, I heard back from FFG personnel. It will be in the mail tomorrow, no questions asked, with expedient and direct service. TWO THUMBS UP!

Just under two weeks since notifying FFG, my new Highlands board arrived. Not bad, and the board was in pristine condition.

Agreed, Thaad was in contact with me a couple of times to personally notify me of replacement coming and when shipped. A gentleman and scholar as they say!

gran_risa.gif Ha ha, Thaad is lovely, efficient and fast.She solved a really bad miniature sorting in my copy of WOW:The Board Game (4 missing Green Orcs) and sent me a Frostmarch Rulesheet because my set had none.

You don't credit her for being a man or a woman, but because she's an uncommonly kind and professional customer care employee. Hail Thaad forever!

I'm not alone! My board also had come pre-torn. But my tears were only about 11mm on one side and 8mm on the other. I just fixed it. You can see were it was pealed back as some of the printing came off, but it still looks good. However, my set was missing a couple of Adventure cards and some of the Spell and Adventure cards are horribly off-set. I just sent an email to FFG. I'm told they have great service.

I am still waiting for the replacement of my Highland Board

There was a delay, so i hope i get it soon.
