Manoeuvre Questions

By Somonelse, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

Hello! This is my first topic. I have a few questions which may and may not be obvious so I need your help to confirm:

1. For the descriptions of Adjust Bearing , Speed and the combo it mentions you have to pick Half Speed or Full Speed , but not for Come to New Heading, Disengage and Evasive Manoeuvres . Do you have a choice for them or is it just the ship's Full Speed? I believed the latter except for Evasive

2. Is it valid to use Come to New Heading to simply turn halfway and not turn again at the end (Just like Adjust Bearing but easier)? I think it's supposed to be used for U-Turns or atleast a skidding turn for Cruisers

And lastly,

3. Is it up to 90 degrees (our ship is a Raider) each turning move for Come to New Heading or just 90 degrees? This is similar to question two where I asked if it is optional.

(Don't know if I word it correctly for question 3, so I apologise)

Thanks in Advance happy.gif

1. I think the three you mention are taken in addition to, not instead of, adjust speed and/or bearing.

3. Yes, that's the advantage of Come To New Heading. IIRC there's still a minimum movement between the two.

Thank you for your help!

Sometimes we pay too much to the grammar of the text just for the sake of arguing, so having a second opinion from outside the group helps.

Am trying to make action cards for the ship combat part of RT, instead of writing it down, and I wanted to put a brief description or instruction on the back.

Now just one more question left (2.)

Yay

Note: Just realised we could move like a zig-zig instead of a U-turn for Come to New Heading .

2) Ok, just looked this one up. Adjust Bearing changes the minimum distance before turning, where Come to New Heading just allows for 2 turns, with each turn taking place after the minium turn distanced (as determaned by adjust bearing) So there's no benefit to Come to New Heading if you only turn once.

Thanks for helping again!

I completely forgot about the penalty to Ballistic Skill, it is not worth it just to make the manoeuvre easier.

I'll tell that to my team mate next time and I can continue with the cards.

Looking back now it was very obvious so thanks for your time in answering my questions.

I hope others would add any questions they have about Manoeuvres later (hopefully more from the anitcipated supplements)
