Questions regarding movement to/from town and potions

By Ninjaman65, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Okay, so I just finished overlording a game and the player's spent the entire game using the town as a "base". What they would do is use movement points (mp) to go to town. Then on there next turn, they would warp back (using proper amounts of mp) take a shot and then warp right back to town and stay there. They were essentially "popping" in and out taking out monsters as they could. They were following the MP costs correctly and all, but for some reason this just seems like an exploit of the rules. Is there a rule somewhere that I missed that corrects this? If so, would you mind telling me where I can find said rule in the original rule book provided in the box? (I just have vanilla Descent, no expansions)

Also, I had a question concerning the use of potions. I know that players can only drink one per turn, but what happens to the potion when they drink it? Is it removed from the game entirely? Or does it go in the town stock? I set aside however many potions I needed for the map and put the rest in the town store. So when the town store is empty do they have to rely on the potions left in the map?

I hope I made myself clear. Let me know and I will clarify what I can.

A Hero is only allowed to glyph once per turn, ignoring this very easily breaks the game. The rule is either in the basic rules or in the FAQ (which you should get an read immediately), and I am too lazy to search for it now.

Used potions are returned to the "stock", available for repurchase. This was clarified in the recent FAQ.

It's in the basic rulebook, page 17, bottom left. "A hero may only use a glyph once per turn—he may not use a glyph to go to town and then return, or vice versa."

It's still possible for heroes to end half of their turns in town, if they work at it. But this makes it very easy for the overlord to spawn monsters on the turns they're hiding.
