Coming this Fall, Fantasy Flight Games is proud to present the latest deluxe expansion for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, Kings of the Storm. In Kings of the Storm, House Baratheon will see a deepening of its native strengths, as well as some crafty new tricks.

Kings of the Storm includes 165 cards - three copies each of 55 unique cards - featuring not only cards for House Baratheon but also neutral cards and plot cards that will easily find their way into the decks of any House.

Also included with this expansion are two deck lists designed to give players strong insight into House Baratheon's native strengths and synergy, designed by 2009 Melee World Champion Jonathan Benton and Wade Freeman. With just a copy of the A Game of Thrones Core Set and a copy of Kings of the Storm, you can play these fun and competitive decks yourself.

For more insight into this expansion, we present some brief designer notes from A Game of Thrones LCG®'s lead designer, Nate French.

"Kings of the Storm was an opportunity to showcase the many facets of House Baratheon in the A Game of Thrones LCG. Long time Baratheon players should find this set to be a huge boon to their decks, and newer players or players who have never played the House should find it to be a great introduction to the House of the Stag.

An exciting feature of the set is a new version of each of the three Baratheon brothers. These 3 cards were designed in a way that suggests using them as focal points of a deck. Robert is all about House Baratheon’s long standing power grab approach. Renly develops their LCG era theme of resource acceleration. And Stannis presents an interesting response to draw heavy decks. The trick with these cards is that they don’t work in coordination with other Baratheon kings, which traces back to the not-so-friendly relationship the Baratheon brothers had in the novels.

“Baratheon Knights” has been a popular deck type for this House over the years, and it was one of the major themes developed for this set. New cards like Knights of the Storm allow players to seize the initiative, and old favorites like the Vanguard Lancer provide a versatile foundation for numerous decks. And while the Knights of the Realm agenda can be used by any House, the Baratheons with their ties to both the Kingsguard and the Rainbow Guard are arguably the ones who will benefit most from the card.

In addition to all the love House Baratheon will find in the Kings of the Storm set, there are a number of important cards whose impact should be desired and felt well beyond the confines of the House. A slightly modified version of the classic Narrow Escape card should provide a little more stability for character based decks, and plot cards like Feast or Famine and The King’s Law should find an important niche in the plot phase metagame."
