Wall of steel and Step aside Stack?

By linearblade, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Do these abilities stack? I dont see anything in the rules that say they dont... but my group has always assumed they dont. anyone have a more official word on this?

I'd say that they would stack. So if a character gets both, he has his initial reaction, a reaction that can only be used to dodge, and one that can only be used for a parry.

Then the character ascends to a Vindicare and has more reactions than he can use.

I have always assumed that they do. Having both essentially giving you three reactions: one for parrying, one for dodging, and your natural one. However, you can go here in you're interested in asking the guys themselves:

Seems like they do. It also mirrors the possible three attacks from Lightning Attack (or the four if your enemy is dual-wielding, but out of four attacks, one should go wrong).

Heres what I got back from FFG

They do indeed stack! A character with both abilities is certainly
prepared for melee combat survival. Check with your GM, as he may not
want you to take so many defensive abilities, but you can still fail
to dodge/parry and in my own groups it hasn't been a problem.

Seems like thats more or less straight from the horses mouth so to speak.
