I was wondering does any one known if the two games will be able to be played together.
so will space mariens have wounds and will there weapons do damage in the same way e.g. 1D10+3 with a pen of 3.
will be really good if they can.
thx

According to that last thing I read they're trying quite hard to make sure they are usable togeather, though it will be a distinct game. So I'd assume such things would be at least translateable, if not directly useable.
Personaly, i'm looking forward to it to steal some ideas and enemies for Rogue Trader. I'm particularly interested in Hordes, as it might allow me to throw some lightly armed and armored guys at the party without drowning myself in rolls.
I think the main problem for a GM will be:
How do I hurt the Space Marine without disintegrating the DH Character
The horde mechanic that's been mentioned seems very interesting and could easily be used to help balance out an encounter that combines an acolyte and a SM.
Place the SM's in the crowd control game while the lightweights take on individuals and lesser boss types.

Doubtful. Deathwatch characters sit about level with Ascension characters - so Inquisitors, Primaris Psykers and Vindicare Assassins are the kinds of Dark Heresy characters who'd be fighting alongside Deathwatch marines (in fact, an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor would be quite an appropriate character for a Deathwatch group).
Same rough game system, so I'm not entirely sure why you wouldn't be able to use them together. Indeed, one of the most frequent suggestions for Space Marine PCs in general was to use them as "secondary characters." That is, your primary character is an acolyte but every now and again as a bit of a change that emphasises the story you get to rock and roll as a "Spess Mareen."
Beyond that, the only other issue seems to be whether you have a play group that could handle one character being "more powerful" (higher level, circle or whatever) than another. If the answer is no, then the answer to the question is no. If the answer is yes, then yes.

Yeah, i think that you get the point. We will see when the Corerules were published, but it seems like the power level will be similar to the DH - Ascension.
In my case, i'm pretty sure that my girlfriend will play with an Ascension Character, (maybe an assassin or an interrogator/inquisitor). =)
I'm actualy looking primaraly at the opposate, puting a Space Marine in a Rogue Trader group. So I'm curous to see how their power levels do end up meshing.
As for playing along side a team that is Core-Deathwatch, You would be looking at a pritty amped up character, though one who focuses on a non-martial aspect, like a Void Master, Psycher or even Tech-Magi, is likely to find themselves more valuable to the team. I think the hard part would be integrating them into the 'Crowning moment of Awsome' and 'Squad/Solo' rules.
FFG has gone on record on one of their podcast interviews saying that the games will be compatible, so that should not be a worry.
...and there's already been a Space Marine in Dark Heresy in the Purge the Unclean adventure anthology.
I think that putting some mundane petty "mortal" in a team of big fearless cold-hearted not-talkative über war machines could be fun for a one shot. But playing this kind of team on a long term basis would be tricky (my opinion). The mortal would probably play during social scene and the marines would probably watch, I am pretty sure that marines idea of interaction with non-marine people (with exception of inquisitor and some rare powerful figure) imply lots of orders and threat. Not the best way to obtain informations... And the one playing the "mortal" would probably go shop some beer or pizza during fights, as a poor handled automatic stub won't do any difference in a "marine fight".
So mixing the two should probably require, at least, an ascension character, and, from my point of view, only an inquisitor could fit in. A Deathwatch marine squad could, theoretically handle every other role :
- Tech-priest => there are tech-marines
- Psyker => there are librarians
- Priest => there are chaplain
- Medical adept => there are apothecary
- Assassin => any marine with a scout armor some stealth and a sniper rifle
Marines would probably despise such help, only an inquisitor with the authority he represents could be recognized as a "comrade" by a marine squad (and only once he or she had gained their trust...).
like Joe Pesci tagging along with a squad of marines. I can imagine it already.
My fiance's Scum/Desperado will be accompanying the male player's Space Marines on their missions. Don't know why...don't care. As a GM, I'm bound to make Saturday's games a good time for everyone. If she doesn't want to play an genetically-engineered killing machine, she shouldn't have to. The guys on the other hand, will want to play Space Marines, so I have to give them all the threats the Galaxy can throw at them.
This won't be pretty. (But then again, it shouldn't be pretty, should it?)

They could - but firstly, there are quite a few situations where a "norm" would be more helpful than another hulking mountain of flesh. Secondly, I don't think Deathwatch Marines are in endless supply. When a given watch team has no techmarine, it can either wait until a nearby chapter hands one over or make do with a Magos. Thirdly, many Ascension characters can certainly hold their own in Marine-level games - a Vindicare is modified even beyond normal marine levels, a Primaris Psyker merely lacks the toughness of a Librarian, a Stormtrooper can lead his company into battle.
And a norm can always use the SM's as mobile walls for cover. Just think, AP 8 + TB cover that moves!

Technically two layers of that armour, what ever that's worth.
I'm tempted to (when it's out) run our DH game and have the players roll a group Deathwatch marines and change the character over when they reach a point in the story that they have finished investigating and can be extracted. Then everyone gets the fun of both.

If Brother-sergeant Ag amorr in PtU is anything to go off of, then we're actually looking more at armor 10-12. It's dependent on whether you count his power armor as being Artificer; as I believe the author of the adventures stated it was intended to be. I, for one, am anxiously awaiting the book to see the truth of things.
Edit: So, having just looked over the Web Addition for Final Sanction , it seems standard Astartes Power Armor is indeed AP 8, as that's what it shows for brothers Octavius and Gregor.
