Rebbelion in Rim - XP Reward

By NeonKnight, in Star Wars: Armada

The rules on Page 16 under Determine Experience has me a little...wondering.

The rules state:

  1. After each Battle, Each Commander gets 1XP
  2. Losing Commander gains 1XP
  3. Winning team subtracts losing team score from their score, and gets 1XP for each full 75 points
  4. Team with lower fleet value gains 1xp for each full 25 xp in fleet value difference.

So, at the bare minimum, the The Winner gets 1xp, while the loser gains 2 xp.

But with regard to the extra XP, lets say at the end of the game (end of round 6), one side has a total of 97 VP, and the other side has 15 VP. Does the winner receive 1 or 2 additional XP? I'm thinking the answer is 1, as 97-15=82. and 82/75=1.093. However, it could just as well be 2, and I'm really unsure what the result is. If the answer is the 1, then the winner is penalized for winning as a match could just as easily end with a VP difference of less than 1 (i.e. 56 VP vs 15 VP).

And obviously, how Step 3 is calculated affects Step 4, does a fleet need a full 25 points to gain the XP reward? i.e. 225 v 200 not 224 v 200

Thanx Again

The winner gets 1 XP for each complete 75 points difference, so if the difference is 82 points, he only gets 1 extra XP. The same for the other condition of the 25 points, it's for every complete 25 points.

It's true that with this system the winner may get less XP than the losser, but it's probably for balance issues as the winner not only will be gaining campaign points for his team, getting them closer to winning the campaign, but also will be gaining more points for upgrades/squadrons. This last point will be making the winners fleet bigger/better than the losser's fleet, so the way to compensate for that in future matches is that the losser may have better abbilites.

Besides, failure is the biggest teacher 😁

Thanx, those were my thoughts as well (the extra rewards), i just wasn't 100% sure if I was interpreting correctly or not.
