divine retribution and shadowcloak

By Idontunderstand, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

We are in the final avatar battle level and the overlord killed our mage which had divine retribution and since he has the upgrade where all beastmen are shadowcloaked he says that the beastmen not adjacent to him are not affected by it. Is this true?

No, it is not true.

Divine Retribution: When you are killed by an enemy figure, all unnamed enemy figures within 3 spaces of you are immediately killed as well. This ability ignores the Undying ability.

Shadowcloak: A figure with the Shadowcloak ability is only affected by attacks made by adjacent figures. The figure does not suffer any wounds or effects from attacks originating farther than one space away.

The effect of Divine Retribution is NOT an attack , which is the only thing Shadowcloak works against. Therefore, those Beastmen are toast.

Stupid reply, please ignore.
