Is there any content in SoB that is used for RtL? I know ToI has some, but I wasn't sure about SoB. I know it is a stand-alone, but beyond rules, etc. are there any encounters, rumors, dungeons for use? I would have thought this would just purely be an addition to RtL. It seems logical that they would make expansions for RtL that would just add onto the map from RtL. I want to get ToI before I start my RtL campaign so I have all of the content, and if SoB has content for it, I want to get it also. Thanks!

You can use the dungeons and the Rumors from SoB, that's about it I believe.
FFG has a pretty strict policy that all their expansions for Descent only require the base game to play, and so the game is designed that way and the rules written that way.
Thank you. Does the quest compendium they are selling use components from all of the expansions, or is that again the base game only (monsters, traps, etc.)?

That I believe uses the expansion.
Be advised that the Quest Compendium has major problems in it, so many that they had to publish a 12 page errata to it. While I do know plenty of people who have enjoyed it, I know an equal number who have refused to buy it due to the problems. Just fair warning.

It uses material from the base game, Well of Darkness and Altar of Despair. Those were the only vanilla expansions released when it came out. RtL was also out, but since the compendium was intended to be a series of vanilla dungeons, I don't think it uses anything from the advanced campaign. I could be wrong about that though, I suppose.
Thanks for the responses. I was hoping they would release something combining all of the dungeon expansions and making a comprehensive rulebook. I guess I can wish in one hand and s%^& in the other though as my father says.
I only have Vanilla and Sea of Blood, but the Sea of Blood rulebook DOES have the compendium of special rules and cards for a bunch of monsters. I'm using old Heroscape figures as alternate monsters now. Wheee!
