Tides of Space and Time

By darkholme, in Rogue Trader

Good morning everyone !

I was re-reading the navigators powers and I am a little confused about the tides of space and time.

At the novice it can give you an extra half action at master level ,2 extra half or 1 full.

But what kind of action can do ?

If the rule "no more than one same-type" is correct, what can do with that extra actions ?

He can't use another navigator power, he can make just an attack (so he can't use that extra actions to strike again in combat), he can't take double movement, he can't double aim and shoot... so how can be this power useful ?

Thank you a lot !

Aside from the initiative bonus of course :)

Reload

Aim

Shoot

Use a skill

Use an Item

etc.

It allows you to get a slight edge.

Due to the very nature of the power, I would suggest it allows to repeat any half action or full action already done.

@ItsUncertainWho : yeah you're right, but at the end of the turn you get 1 Fatigue (so -10 to all tests). It seems a little too much for a slight edge

@FatPob : So he could make another attack, for example ?

in my game yes - otherwise the penalty is not worth taking. remember you can get as many fatigue as your TB, so a standard 36 toughnes gives 3 fatigue levels, number 4 and you are out for the count.

I suppose it's how powerful you want the power to be. In my opinion it should be extraordinary - because quite simply it is. Players won't be using it every round, thats for sure, so I would allow extra attacks. The name is cool, so the power should be also.

If you want to play down powers, then limit it to 1 type of action per round. However I doubt many will use it, and then probably if prompted as it is likely to get forgot about.

Hi!

Even if you do not take the same action twice:

Imagine your Navigator being equiped with a very fine hand weapon and this power is active

ready the weapon; take a full action to aim (+20); shot

or

Draw the weapon; shot the weapon; !RUN! (hit and run, huh?)

have double the roles on an extended test the in a combat role (say, you NEED to solve this riddle to get the portal open so you can FLEE)

I think the power is quiet handy.
