resistance faction worth it?

@5050Saint Thanks for fleshing out my own thoughts.

Poe with OT is floating in A-S tier in my personal experience, been fly him a lot in a Poe, Rey, Merl list and he does okay. Tend to fly him now like a cagey Sootir.

I don't think I said a light or naked Rey was bad, it still high tier. Just the go to Rey, Finn, Rose, title, Korre build was very strong.

As for everything else your pretty much spot on my assessment.

The main transports just don't have a great roll. Most opponents target them because they are offensively and defensively weak easy points. They're suppose to be support ship but the only one being used competively is Cova, in more of a jouster roll, because its ability is efficient and straight up upgrades the stateline.

Nodin has a good ability but needs Korre on-board, R4 at minimum to make use of it. It kinda of makes him pointless as a crew carriering support ship if you have to use him the crew slot to make him work rather than supporting your other ships. Rose with 3PO is a better coordinator at the moment.

I agree two cannon slot with sync might work well here, its a converted Bwing after all. Plus wouldn't OP Cova because his ability is only primary.

They might be better in the future with better crew cards but at the moment I can't see a place for them that any of the other ships can't fill.

Again Starfortresses aren't great bare bones. Even with points investment they're not something I personally like to center a list around. Others may feel differently. That said the Vennie, Paige, VTH, PerCo, TraSim, PA build is the one exception to that. Been flying a Rey Vennie list and it has a lot going for it.

This is just my opinion and experience. As it appears not everyone is going to agree with that, we all have different flying preferences even within a faction. I'd rather discuss those and maybe find out something new to prove me wrong. Happy for that to happen.
