Not long left for this sort of thing, might as well get in while I can.
Lack of table time makes it much harder to judge Republic lists than Scum/Empire lists, for me. Just a great deal less experience to draw upon. So I have no idea whether this would be good, or not, but I had a blast flying it against my boy today.
A few quick experiments on Fly Casual clued me in to the potential for squishiness, coupled with a slightly unhealthy dose of complicated arc coverage. So, hard to get everything to click, and/or keep it alive and scoring when it doesn't.
Fun though.
As always, plenty of options for moving points around between the ships.
Laat/i Gunship - •“Hound” - 50 •“Hound” - Vigilant Tracker (50)
V-19 Torrent Starfighter - Gold Squadron Trooper - 29 Gold Squadron Trooper - (25) Cluster Missiles (4)
V-19 Torrent Starfighter - Gold Squadron Trooper - 29 Gold Squadron Trooper - (25) Cluster Missiles (4)
Eta-2 Actis - Jedi General - 46 Jedi General - (41) Heavy Laser Cannon (5)
Eta-2 Actis - •Shaak Ti - 46 •Shaak Ti - Compassionate Mentor (44) Patience (2)
Total: 200
One of the options is running 2 7B Knights with Hound and Shaak, one for HS. Feels more reliable whilst still being very enjoyable.
This list is because I bought 2.
I did put 2 Patient, Autoblaster Generals in, but then kinda love Shaak Ti already. I also surprisingly like the lone HLC Knight. Vicious ranged flank threat with FC happening waaay elsewhere, but still lending a hand.
Shaak has such awesome flexibility, particularly with Patience and Hound. Prime the Knight, freeing up possible Purple lock etc. Tank herself when going solo. Bestly, giving both V-19s focus/evade going into a lock, with FC enabling mods on all the clusters.
With 4 extremely distracting ships, the LAAT suddenly becomes really nice to use. Thicc boi.
Getting its arc on Shaak and the enemy at the same time, is awkward. All the things just can't work all the time. Shaak is a limited, restricted resource. Fire Convergence is mostly just 1 charge. Blanks reroll into blanks. Crits suck.
But options are good.
