Got to feel bad for the FFG team

By player3691565, in Star Wars: Armada

Looks like the FFG team are being completely sold down the river. Such a shame when business does not honour the compact between employees, owners and customers. Capitalism without that compact is chaos.

Anytime a company you work for is acquired, merged, taken over, whatever they want to call it. Start planning an exit

We have tupe rights in the uk. Get to transfer to the new company with contract honored

Sure, contracts are contracts. What is considered right, normal, and proper in one society will most often not agree with what another has decided. That doesn't make either society right, wrong, or better than another.

I don't know much of anything about employment rights in any country. I find it hard to believe that there isn't any way for an employee to be declared redundant in a merger or downsized based on business revenues in the UK.

Even with a contract, it's not always a guarantee that the environment or supervision of the new company will be desirable, so I think my original advice applies. Just because you legally get to keep your job, doesn't mean you will be happy with it. Better to have pursued other employment and not need it, than need it and not pursued it.

I also feel bad for us, the players.

We have absolutely no idea what AMG intends to do going forward.

Do they even intend to keep Armada, X-wing and Legion?

Time will tell. Even if they keep the games, there's no guarantee they won't break 'em down and rebuild them out as radically new editions.

Given that Asmodee actively did not want to keep the veteran designers/developers, I suspect to see some pretty big changes. But "business as usual" seems quite unlikely.

Yeah, signs are really lining up to them trying to reboot into a major new edition with a mostly new design team with no real history with the products; which will not work just based on the nature and veracity of the community. In another like 3-5 years maybe, but not in the near term.

They do seem to intend the products to keep going (ludicrous not to, considering sales numbers tend to be solid for all 3).

I'd say yes to X-wing and Legion, Armada I think will go the way of 1.0 X-wing. 3/4 waves of the new factions then the last wave with '2.0 cards preview included', followed by wholesale change.

They indicated on one post they want to look into campaigns and tournament play, they may even open their own forums.
