So maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the Alpha 3E ‘Esk’ Configuration for the V-Wing might be okay. The idea here is that the Jedi do Jedi stuff, and Contrail & Odd Ball will occasionally take turns trying to play control for a turn (the way the charges work on the Esk Config, you can alternate which V-Wing has the Configuration active each turn). Odd Ball will be more likely to get the unanswered critical in, due to having both marksmanship and R7-A7. With a little luck, they may even be able to chain-ion a low agility target for a couple turns.
Now, you might say it isn’t worth trading criticals you’re fortunate enough to slip in on Fenn Rau or Soontir Fel for ion damage; you might get lucky and hit them with a two red attack once, but maybe not again. And I agree. Against an agile, low health Ace, I wouldn’t activate the Esk Configuration. You’d rather just have critical hits on these guys.
Anyway, there’s a few points left over for a bid, or perhaps a couple more toys in the list. I’d also considered turning one of the Esks into an Ion Turret Broadside, because he’s good, and about the same cost as Contrail/Odd Ball, but I kinda like having three highly mobile i5’s and an i6. Thoughts?
