Reasons to play in the Vassal league:

-Play top notch regulars who have a ton of experience

-Reach the top to have a chance to oust Oli_186th eventually or the players who regularly battle him

-A chance to wander around the various rooms and expose yourself to cunning lists and smart playstyles without having to coordinate with people and hunt for room passwords as the default way of doing things

-A chance to study your opponents' previous games by viewing their logfiles in the listfortress website

This. I haven’t played X-Wing in a few months due to COVID, a move, and a dying laptop, but I’m all in for the next Vassal League season.

So far as the actual gameplay, vassal League has provided most of the best games of X-Wing I have ever played. It's not as fun as in person but it's a good, good time.

I'm debating if I should rejoin this season.

I haven't played any xwing since last season.

That means I haven't played with or against anything in the last few (two?) Waves. And I'm still pretty green with the last wave or two before that as well.

So I'd probably be able to make lists but get destroyed by almost anyone I play.
