some good looking ships in there

The Vector seems to blend Incom and Slayn & Korpil design aesthetics, but with the weapons moved more inboard either in the fuselage itself in an over/under configuration or stylized as the forward jutting vanes extending from the engines either side of the cockpit. Do the top two stabalizers look like they might shift position to extend to the side to anyone else?

yeah. the wings/stabilizers definetely move. and its always strange seeing these "older" ships that look so much more advanced than the chronologically "newer" technology, but Im into it.

The only one I really dislike is the second image, the one that looks like a Hind helicopter in an Infinity style cyberpunk universe.

Also the 3rd image is an existing Star Wars ship. I own a model of it from the Star Wars Starship Battles game that coincidentally is X-wing scale

They mention some stuff in the text of the article about this which makes a lot of sense. Before GE, more artisan hand-crafted looks. After GE, more streamlined, assembly-line sort of looks. So going even further back, they wanted the republic ships to look even more artisanish. I'm not sure if they've achieved that but it's at least an interesting discussion.

Any chance you know the name of the ship as it was in Starship Battles ship, or could take a picture of it? I've been looking through galleries of images such as on boardgamegeek and minisgallery but can't find anything very similar looking. I'm curious what it was called then.

Aesthetics don’t bother me. The real question is going to be what the story is and how it pans out. I’m still a bit leery.

Agreed, the Nihil ships look terribly generic. They could hail from any number of fictional universes not called "Star Wars" and I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference.

i dont know what its called but there are 3 of them on the bottom left of this picture. When you look at the miniature from the back it is identical to the picture, and very distinct.

Mine are in a box somewhere, i'll dig them out and post a pic

Oh yeah, I can see some similarity. That's a SoroSuub patrol fighter, also called Cutlass-9.

Remember.

They're showing Star Wars at its height, like the prequels. Stuff gets ruddier when conflict starts blazing.

@KCDodger I don’t have access to my DMs as they are maxed out. I have 300 messages I can’t look at as I’m maxed and it won’t allow me to get in. I can’t even see notifications on the board unless I look at the actual board.

I have given my Whatsap to a few members and will be happy to do so with you.
