I was sondering why the boarding pike (i think its in the inquisitors hand book) was listed as exploding damage. Is this a typo that just hasn't been caught or am I missing something?

Just read the description of the boarding pike on page 163 and it will become clear.

There is 1 charge mounted on the weapon that causes the exploding effect, until a new charge is placed it counts as a club.

Honestly it's based more on a combination of a bang-stick and the old fashion boarding-pike of the age of sail. Ala the space-crew's version of a hunting lance as well.
