Max is gone as well.

Brooks was let got months ago, shortly before adepticon. I don't think they've moved onto anything else yet. Frank is the only person I haven't heard anything on. I had the opportunity to talk to him at worlds and he said he was still with ffg but not working on x-wing.

I was immensely sad to hear the news about Max. Max had wonderful insight into both the game and community. He was my favorite dev and the game is dramatically more fun because of him.

Thanks for the info.

So only one Brooks remains to possibly take the mantle of experience to AMG.

Unless they pull a force awakens and bring back "orginal cast members " like Jay Little, I dont see who else from the dev roster is left standing to bring over, as they implied in the announcement articles, that's distressing.

I'll admit my "knowledge" of that was hearsay. My bad for perpetuating it.

But the point still stands, I'd rather like some veterans like yourself if you really are Max, I wouldn't put it past folks to create an alt and claim your name. still working on the game to be able to veto missteps that have already came before.

Also, thanks for all the effort and creativity put into the game. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Alex revealed in an interview years ago you can tell who the head dev was on a wave because thier name appears first in the credits in the package, doesn't mean anything in there was 100% on that person, but definitely the best place to start

Max being gone is bad for xwing, but good for me having smart blog posts about game design to read 🦈

Honestly Max had let me down. He promised 🦈 pictures but the first pic is a sawtooth instead!

This is as bad as that time he invented tlt before he even started working in xwing.

Don't worry. There are plenty of folks on the forums and Reddit who know what's best for the game. I'm sure they'll get scooped right up.

Well, I'm not going to say they didn't approach me. . .

OK, fine. They didn't.

I hate NDAs anyways.

But they didn’t say dev team were carried over, that’s just what everyone chose to believe it meant. Could have been the art coordinator, the lead sculptor, the logistics guy, the LFL relationship manager. There’s loads of people who go into a X-Wing release, most of them aren’t designers, and some of them moved over.

We do know that the person responsible for LFL relations was kept (names escapes me at the moment), moving to AMG.

The last Team Covenant Pod had some interesting speculations on the matter as well.

As for who degined what, you also see some "handwriting" in the models, e.g. the tendency to very convoluted card texts.

As my oldest child stopped playing and wanted the gaming table gone from the room, I had to space compress my collection. Thus entry microhangars, me throwing almost all the inlets. On the inlets you can see who designed what (eg Brooks F did some Seppie stuff) and who messed around playtesting :)

I can try and check the inlets from ship in collections from two of the kids.

@Wazat Would'nt it be nice to do a colloboration and list on the wiki who was designers of which ships?

Hehe, true dat. I am sure Atomic has seen the light as in why hire designers when you can just visit here. Our days of suffering is over, rejoice! Them golden times are comming.

Sounds like a designers fingerprint, pieced together from a multitude of patterns in the details of their work.

Neat if you could pull it off.

As an Armada player, all I can say is wow. Gernes and Brooks were the game's two primary designers, having spearheaded most of the recent waves (Rebellion in the Rim, Starhawk, Onager, Clone Wars). And now they're both gone. Again, wow.

Point taken.

I concede that any member can be considered as "key", since it's a subjective statement.

I suppose it's very Obi Wan to just say any statement is true, from a certain point of view, and in that thinking they could literally just bring 1 dev lead over from any one of the SW games and then the statement is now technically true.

However, when I read " key members" (plural)"involved in "the creation and evolution " of a game, the context of creation and evolution brings devloper(s) to mind before art coordinator and sculptor, etc.

Not to diminish the important contributions of other team members who come together to realize a games vision, but my understanding was that the dev team was the genesis for the specifically stated "creation and evolution" of the game.

But who knows, maybe the art work or the logistics departments ideas on how to improve distribution are what's been driving the creation and evolution of these games all along

Joining them will be key members of the teams involved in the creation and evolution of Fantasy Flight’s current Star Wars miniatures games,

I think you’re giving marketing spin a bit too much credit.

Benefit of the doubt, too much credit, taking them at their word(and/or insinuations), what have you.

Just hoping they would bring along someone who has been in the pilots seat to at least transition the game. 😑

That would be neat. It's not hard at all to set up a Credits page on the wiki. What's hard is tracking down all the info, and then data entry. I haven't kept any of my inlets for ships etc.

Edit: If you're serious about it and you and others you can find can put in the work, start up a separate thread and ping me in it (so we're not hijacking this one). I'll be happy to support you on the wiki side of things (getting you set up, starting you off with an article containing a ship list and empty credits per ship, helping with roadblocks, occasionally adding templates or other tools if needed, etc).
