Dragontower and my greatest wish to FFG

By magicrealm, in Talisman

we see that 4. Edition became a rebuild of 3. Edition. So we all expect the Dragontower to come after City and Forrest. Probably after the Dragontower there will be only some more cardsets and no further board anymore. ok. Here is my wish for the Dragontower and i write it into large letters :

PLEASE CONSTRUCT THE TOWER IN A WAY THAT MULTIPLE TOWERS ADD TO EACH OTHER !!!!!!!!!

i m architect and could help you with the construction if you have problems with that..

i have told you this wish in your forum, you should read your forums and get this wish into your company.

the reason for that wish is the possibility for houserules and for further cardsets. this way the tower becomes a game in its own. it can be a castle, a forttress, a dragon- and a gianttower, a temple of sun and a temple of moon and whatever . you can even add the tower to Descent !

so please, it wont be much circumstances to do it once you checked the idea.

an official respond to this would be a nice greeting to the community.

i reported this wish to the moderator, so maybe that helps to get knowledge from it. well, if multiple towers can add to a greater one, people would buy multiple towers and new towermodules can be made in further addons. large possibilities, good for the players, good for the company.

Sorry guys, im going on dreaming about the Tower and how the product could be. Hope you enjoy it.

we have descent and dungeonquest (soon) as the two similar games from ffg / gw.. lets keep descent out here, its unlikely to brĂng a product that includes these two games, although it might be possible to use the tower for some homemade adventures in 3D..

the gw dungeonquest maptiles had been very small, half the size of a talisman card. probably they are of that size in the ffg edition too. so the tower could be a luxury edition of dungeonquest, using not more for that game than the mapboard. However, we could keep Dungeonquest out here too and take the tower for talisman only. its just a possibility.

The box of the Tower is of the Descent basicgame size. it will be not only an expansion but a game in its own. it does contain craft, strenght, live, fate and gold tokens and dice. the characters are shown in models and cards as usual, but a second charactercard shows the higher values for the tower as a standalone game. a simple rule like "add10 to strengt and craft and draw spells as your craft allows" can bring all talisman charaters to the tower standalone. all encounters in tower will be simply 10 higher, or something like that, than those from talisman games so far.

the mapboard means plastic colums and frames and paper board pieces, which have to be placed into the plastc frames. the frames can be clicked into the colums. there are colums for 1 level, 2 level and 3 level. the board pieces have the size of a talisman boardspace. If Dungeonquest is a factor, they show exactly these corridors, adjections and crossings as the dungeonquest game, just larger and, sticked together, 3dimensional.

a huge Dragon plastic model will be the highlight like in the 3rd edition. that one can be used for Dungeonquest too. there will be a huge giant, lichking, demonlord, seraphim,... sold in extra boxes just like the descent miniatures.

its just a dream. a chance to end talisman with a new beginning. new toweraddons with special rooms, 4 lvl colums, new kind of stuff. new papermaperboards to be placed around the towers in the size of the basic game, there are a lot of possibities with high market chances if performed well. Lets see what ffg will do and if the world still exists when ffg will comes to it.

I wouldn't expect an official response. FFG don't tend to publicise anything that isn't either very vague or mostly through development already. That said, I'm sure they read these boards, and that any suggestions or wishes will be noted (or at least noticed).

I've never played 3rd, but 4th revised seems to be modeled on 2nd more than third. They've used ideas from both though. While the Highlands and the corner board layout are taken from 3rd, a lot of cards and characters come from 2nd - including the alternate endings. While we van be certain of four corner boards, we can't be sure that The City, Forest, or Tower will be released. Nor can we rule out Timescape.

I think the tower shoud overlap the CoC, but not the entire inner region. I'd like to see the Dragon Tower (along with the Dragon King) as an alternate ending rather than a mainstay. Otherwise I'd enjoy a staple tower board that represents the tower shown on the CoC space - extra steps to the final destination independant of which ending is to be used.

My preference is not for a tower but for a Mountain that leads to the Tower. This way you keep the Mines, Crypt, etc and the Dwarf and Gnome don't get shafted. The Tower should only come into play once a player crosses the VoF. Bringin back to the realm dice for the tower makes sense too.

Agreed. Any tower should overlap the Crown Of Command space but not the rest of the inner region.

My wish is also to see a Dragon Tower.babeo.gif

I have no problems if it overlaps the whole inner region. The Inner region is already boring anyway..

Gnome, map etc can easily be removed from the game.

i hope it has 3 a 4 floors gran_risa.gif

Given the size of the adventure deck (especially by the time we get a tower), picking through it to remove the hermit, shovel, etc would be a pain in the butt.

More importantly, a so called expansion which adds at the cost of taking other stuff away somewhat defeats the purpose. And who wants to play without the Dwarf?

The map and shovel should be no problem. you can also discard them if you draw those cards.

But mines and crypt and dwarf are another problem indeed.

FFG could include the mines and crypt in a dragon tower with the same text.

They can also make a path to a dragon tower and add those spaces along the way.

The inner region is big enough
