I have a fleet with a pair of Comms Net Gozantis that I run. I've been looking over it in the light of the Munitions Resupply and Parts Resupply cards and I am not sure that Comms Net is worth using any more.
1 - Comms Net consumes the dial, neither of the two new cards do.
2 - Comms Net works on one ship, the others work on multiple ships.
Downsides of the new cards - they need a dial to reset? And that's about it?
Is there still a place for Comms Net, realistically?
On Imp/Reb flotilla: definitely.
On CW faction ships: more of a maybe.

So if you need Nav or Squadrons, you're outta luck. Plus, those two upgrades are one point more expensive than Comms Net. I think there's still a place for it, it's just not the only option anymore.

I've looked at some rebel builds with Ahsoka.
She can convert only 1/turn, but it's still a huge flexibility boost.
Comms net is more flexible. Yes, CN consumes the dial and only 1 per turn, but it can be anything you need per turn. That’s the selling point. in the end, you likely get
Parts/Munition Resupply really want a plan for their use or want some other cards like Ahsoka to combo with it.
Though saying that the Resupply cards don’t consume the dial isn’t the entire story. Either you use a token from the Resupply card to refresh it or you have to not use a command dial to get a token to refresh it. One means you only get 4 tokens, one means you do still lose 1-2 dials keeling it going.
EDIT: One last thought. If your flotilla’s sole job is to provide tokens for your main ship (SSD, hawk) and not support for multiple ships, the Resupply cards become worse than Comms net.

Sovereign ISD solves that particular problem for the Empire.

Oh absolutely! And she can be exactly what you need! But you've also now invested an Officer seat and another 2 points. Not saying it's not worth it, just saying that I think Comms Net still has a place.

Same thoughts as what I wrote above. I love Sovereign, especially as a Tarkin player! But now, you've invested a Title upgrade and another 4 points.
Again, if this is the build you want because it serves you best, then go for it! Both are creative solutions and could play really well! But in answer to the original question, "is there still a place for Comms Net?", I believe there is, and these are my reasons why.

Nice! I really like her, and I understand why she doesn't see a ton of play, but I am really hopeful that she will with the 1.5 changes!
I agree that Comms Net is still a great choice for Fleet Support if you need versatility and adaptability.
In my 1st Republic build, I chose to equip Comms Net on Radiant VII rather than Munitions Supply because I wanted the option to pass different tokens to my Acclamators depending on their needs each round.
For example, one round I'd pass a Squadron token to Nevoota Bee to activate 1 extra squadron. Another round I'd pass a Repair token to my Acc-II to refresh ECM. Another round I'd pass a ConFire token to my Acc-II to refresh Clone Captain Zak.
Munitions and Parts Supply are most useful if all of your ships will be doing the same thing. At least the other 3 factions have the option to bring two or more Fleet Support ships and equip one with Munitions Supply and one with Parts Supply; however, the Republic currently can only bring one Fleet Support ship, so equipping Comms Net is the better option IMO.
Edited by Captain CorvidSomething in between comms net and resupply cards is comms net + vanto ( you can add Aresko for 3 tokens a turn but totals 14 extra points). This allow 2 tokens a turn. 1 dial + 1 vanto either same or different. Aresko just pulls the dial.
This is thread shows WHY this update is so cool and fun place to explore. There are multiple options for you to accomplish something which one works best for you?

I think this is right. My imps and rebs usually have one key ship that will need to hog a range of tokens through the game.
Republic i think definitely need navs to enable squadron pushing acclamators.
But if you take Bail there may be less need for that too.
Combat acclamators with clone gunners or gunnery teams might be better just drawing on munitions resupply? Dont know of a single copy would suffice.
droids have the tactical droid which is a fantastic upgrade so you are going to want to feed him too.

Yea I used it pretty much every fleet great in a fleet with a fleet command upgrade

You make a good point. There were A LOT of times I would add a flotilla to my fleet for activations and put Comms Net on there because “It’s 2 points, why not?”

Eh, it's like (officer) Leia - the point is it allows instant defense against command-f^cking by your opponents. Sometimes the game is won or lost by a single command token you had no way of knowing you'd ever need until your enemy did something absolutely stupidly effective (like a collision that prevents a turn that would have allowed you to stay on the table at your current speed, for example). Then add to that Slicer Tools, Raid, etc...
