We must have the fight to end all fights before the servers close. It will be one of the worst, least entertaining and aggravating threads ever put to a server! Like a train wreck mixed with gallons of baby vomit and cat pee.

Oh, well for that we need to Necro the Armor Defence thread.

Then we can discuss whther or not give XP to absentees.

Name some other characters from the Illiad then... without looking them up.

Odysseus, Helena, Paris, Agamemnon, Hector. And of course a bunch of gods.

Other than possibly Helena of Troy none of them are as famous as Achilles (who got a body part/tendon named after him)... but Achilles is famous for his (only) weakness rather than his strength... so building in a weakness to an otherwise uber character makes them more interesting (like kryptonite for superman)

Meh. He just seem like Balder with the serial numbers filed off with a much worse backstory for how he got his not-invulnerability.

Pretty much everyone knows what an "Achilles heel" is even if they don't know who Achilles is.

And an “odyssey” is named after Odysseus, and everyone knows that it’s a fancy word for a long trip.

But I imagine a lot fewer people would know Odysseus is a person... he's been forgotten while Odyssey is remembered... people know Achilles was a person with a weakness in his heel.

Quote

1 in 5 Americans can’t name single branch of U.S. government.

Annenberg Public Policy Center’s Civics Knowledge Survey found only 2 in 5 American adults – or 39 percent – could correctly name the three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. That figure was the highest in five years, up from 32 percent last year.

Might not wanna jump to conclusions about what is common knowledge among people.....

I created a 2-1B medical droid using the npc droid stats as a basis

.. it (he) was AMAZE-BALLS as first aid and Lore.... ripped it's own arm off trying to pry open a maintenance hatch as I rolled a Despair..picked it up next turn to use as an improvised club :D
