I always thought these were some of the coolest ships from the legacy books.

The Hapan Battle Dragon was introduced in the book Courtship of Princess Leia . They're a bit smaller than a Star Destroyer and focused purely on space combat without the large occupation force capacity of an Imperial warship. The Hapan cluster couldn't produce fast firing turbolasers like the Imperials, so instead they built their ships with rings. Smaller lasers would travel around the ring to fire in sequence and then recharge. This allowed them to pour a lot of energy into a target, but only a single target at a time; figuratively burning ships like a dragon.
