Pretty self explanatory given the title of the thread, but I was wondering if we will have to move our forum given that we’re currently under an FFG page and the game is now moving to AMG.

We will not have to move the forum, that sounds complicated. We may need to start posting elsewhere

Based on the precedent of the Genesys and Star Wars RPG forums still remaining open and relatively active despite a significant amount of time since the exchange of control over those IPs, I think we can presume that the Legion, X-Wing, and Armada forums will continue to run some time after AMG fully takes over. That said, there's likely going to be a time when they lock or archive the Star Wars miniature games forums similar to how they did numerous other titles (Netrunner card game, Dark Heresy, ect…)

From what I understand though, those archived forums are still accessible both for viewing and posting, so I suspect these forums will never truly get "shut down" unless FFG goes under.


I also know the Star Wars IP can be super picky about who has access to what. (They had issues with the X-wing profile pics here on the forums, FFG had to deny access to them due to a licensing issue.) If AMG wants to have better control and access they may be setting up their own system in the future.

Thanks for the responses guys, appreciate it. Just hoping AMG is ready to handle this and maybe can try and make up for some of FFG’s shortcomings like turnaround time on reprints and getting new product out.

I was thinking the same thing as the OP when the move to AMG was announced -- except obviously the forum can't literally be transferred to AMG.

The problem is that AMG's website is very basic compared to FFG's. It doesn't have a forum. Unless AMG decides to greatly expand the functionality of their website, I think we'll have to continue using FFG's forum.

I don't think there's any urgency. I think it's unlikely that FFG will shut down the Star Wars sections of this forum because the games have been transferred to AMG.
