Brave New World

By Flengin, in Star Wars: Armada

My Friends, we stand upon shores unknown!!

Never before has our game experienced such upheaval. Not even the arrival of wave 2, or the game defining wave 3 (sponsored by Admiral Nelson™) will have had the impact that we shall see in this coming month. For with all the changes upon us, the old metas haven't merely shifted, they have been crumbled to dust, waiting to be made new and discovered in their yet unforseen form!

Not all the changes are purely good in my eyes. The shift to evades and the new pass token system, while good changes from one perspective, add to the 'Barrier to entry' for new players by complicating the rules even further. And between the price of the game and the already complex rules, that barrier was quite high to begin with.

But for those of us who already know and love this game, we live in exciting times as we slowly emerge to this new landscape and go forth to explore.

I know not everyone is happy with many of the changes (or the perceived lack thereof in some cases), but I urge you to take this as the opportunity it could be. To not cling to what was, nor to what could have been. But rather, to embrace and enjoy with wonder this gift we have of a time of newness and discovery.

The old is past, the new is come. So let us rise to the occasion and treat it as something precious.

I agree. However, I envision you giving this speech in a first order uniform on a planetary super weapon. Cue the music.

This time of newness and discovery is what I am most excited about with the changes!

I wonder...

Is it a coincidence? I mean, the transition from FFG to AMG mirroring the shift between The Galactic Empire and The First Order?

And Christian T. Peterson's 'retirement' just a little while ago couldn't possibly mirror The Emperor's death?

Does any one know if Christian T Peterson had an evil laugh?

And if so, will be be return, revealing that he was controlling AMG from the shadows all along...

No hesitation here! The promise of new factions is far more exciting to me than the promise of more and more ships for the Empire and Rebels.
