Rebel/Imperial/Republic Lists

By SDCC, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've got back on the horse recently, so started looking at a list to use on TTS for each faction that I use IRL.

Rogue Squadron Escort + Fire-Control System + R3 Astromech x 3
AP-5
200

Anakin Skywalker + Brilliant Evasion + Predator + Jamming Beam + R7-A7 + Stealth Device
Obi-Wan Kenobi + Brilliant Evasion + Predator + Jamming Beam + R4-P Astromech + Stealth Device
Loyalist Volunteer x 2
188

Omicron Group Pilot + Emperor Palpatine + Hull Upgrade
Scarif Base Pilot + Admiral Sloane + Shield Upgrade
Academy Pilot x 4
200

So far I've used the Imp list against some ETAs and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to trying the others soon.

Republic Squadron 1

(56) Anakin Skywalker [Eta-2 Actis]
(8) Stealth Device
(2) Predator
Points: 66

(49) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Eta-2 Actis]
(5) Sense
(8) Stealth Device
(2) Predator
Points: 64

(51) Aayla Secura [Eta-2 Actis]
(2) Brilliant Evasion
(8) Stealth Device
(2) Predator
Points: 63

Total points: 193

Sense has the same trigger window as ETA-2 ship ability. So you can scout and then decide if you need to roll or boost. Gives you semi double reposition.

Also Aayla can really help with survivability here. And here is my other idea.

Republic Squadron 2

(49) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Eta-2 Actis]

(5) Sense

(2) Predator

Points: 56

(51) Aayla Secura [Eta-2 Actis]

(2) Brilliant Evasion

(2) Predator

Points: 55

(32) "Odd Ball" [Nimbus-class V-wing]

(3) R4-P44

(2) Alpha-3B "Besh"

(3) Precision Ion Engines

(3) Elusive

Points: 43

(33) "Contrail" [Nimbus-class V-wing]

(2) R4 Astromech

(1) Alpha-3E "Esk"

(3) Precision Ion Engines

(1) Marksmanship

Points: 40

Total points: 194

For Republic, I think that Tractor ETA with a mini swarm will be a staple for hyperspace, due to having so many possible variations

Take this list for example:

Tractor Obi + Warthog's Heavies

(49) Obi-Wan Kenobi [Eta-2 Actis]
(4) Tractor Beam
(2) Predator
Points: 55

(54) "Warthog" [Laat/i Gunship]
Points: 54

(42) 104th Battalion Pilot [ARC-170 Starfighter]
Points: 42

(42) 104th Battalion Pilot [ARC-170 Starfighter]
Points: 42

Total points: 193

You could replace warthog with the 3rd arc and upgrade your Jedi, or you could just go with Vs instead of arcs for more guns.

It seems to me that you want the ETA to be an ace, not a support ship, and also you don't want to use the tractoring function because the ship you tractored could pivot 90° and shoot the fragile ETA.

I think ion cannon is probably going to be the standard hyperspace cannon.

So far I've had three games with the Imperial list. All against ETA/V lists. I've gone 2-1 so far, and I'm really enjoying it. Need to try it against something else.

Sloane is still worth the points, the mini swarm is fun, and Palp just stays out of the way. Enjoying learning it.

I've played against Obi/Ani/V/V twice, and they are living on knife edge. Especially with the risk of double stress and multiple shots.

That's the thing, ETA can be support and ace at the same time because they are very flexible point-wise. This is one of the builds that leans LESS into the ace aspect, but predator is already enough to make it threatening. As for the fragility of the ETA, Obi can take both focus and evade the same turn, so he can handle himself.

Great defense to be sure, but green dice are fickle and you can always blank out. Tractoring a 3 dice primary ship can mean eating a 4 dice attack, whiffing the defense, and eating 3 damage even after spending the evade. It's not very likely, but it's definitely tempting fate.

Don't forget that you're not forced to bring things closer to you. Tractor's there to nerf the opponent's agility

You can also not move them, which is fine for nerfing agility. Just saying that the tractor function can be double-edged, especially for an arc-dodging ship with 3 hp.
