obstacles and ship movement

By Uncrustable, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

If a ship starts it's turn on an obstacle and moves at speed 0 does it take a damage card?

If a ship starts on an obstacle moves and rams another ship and is forced back to the obstacle does it take a card from the obstacle aswell as the ram?

Thanks!

Even if a ship does not change its position as a result of being at speed “0,” it has still executed a maneuver and resolves any effects of overlapping obstacles and/or another ship.

Found on page 8 of the Rule Reference under Overlapping

So yes, if you are on an obstacle and at speed 0, or overlapping another ship reduces your speed to 0, you still execute a maneuver and resolve the effects of the overlapping, meaning you suffer the damage from the obstacle as well as the damage from the ram.

Yes, as mentioned by Toast.

A speed 0 maneuver is still a maneuver and will resolve the effects of "overlapping" an obstacle.

And yes, if ramming a ship drops you on top of an obstacle, you will take a ram damage and then resolve the effects of the obstacle you landed on.
