RitR, Base Defense: Fighter Wing & Points

By Derpzilla88, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I can't find a clear answer anywhere so far.

In our most recent Tabletop Simulator game of Rebellion in the Rim, the Rebels attacked an Imperial Base that had the Fighter Wing base defense objective. We noticed that the wording on the RitR version of the card differed from the Corellian Conflict version.

The question that came up has two parts, but both should have a similar answer:

1. Do the squadrons added by the Fighter Wing base defense count as points for the opponent if they're destroyed? The RitR version doesn't make this clarification like the CC version did.

2. Do the 40 points of squadrons count towards the Defending player's fleet point total when determining how many Experience Points players get at the end of the match (referring to the point difference between fleets for extra XP)?

The reason these are not clarified on the card is that they are included in the rules, with the same rules applying for all the Objectives that have additional forces.

The main rules for Controlling Additional Forces are on pages 2-3 of the RitR booklet. To answer question 1:

Quote

Scoring Additional Forces: When determining scores at the end of the game, the fleet point value of destroyed ships and their equipped upgrades) and squadrons that were added to a player's fleet are counted as enemy ships or quadrillions by that player's opponent. [Emphasis added]

Question 2 (and 1) is answered in the latest FAQ, page 11:

Quote

Q: Are additional forces that a fleet gains during a battle - such as from a campaign objective or ally token - also added to that fleet's total value?

A: Yes. Additional forces are added to a fleet's total value when determining score , experience , and understrength bonus for location rewards. [Emphasis added]

So the answer to both your questions is Yes, and note that the bonus squadrons also count for the understrength bonus.

Thanks. We were so rushed to try and figure out the answer, we didn't even think to double check the actual rulebook.
